Re: Help with EMU on 2JZ
I didn't come on here to be told in an idiot for driving the car with a miss. I merely followed the advice of the mapper and we were driving it to try and isolate the misfire. How else can you identify a misfire that only occurs under load without driving it?! You are correct, all the engines were r...

I completely agree mate. thank you.PSI-Motor wrote:The missfires killed your engine. I think you have trigger or wiring issues combined with wrong rising and falling settings. The other guy probably have the same problems.
Have you spotted anything within the map out of the ordinary?

Re: Help with EMU on 2JZ
no, as soon as it was started it was running on the EMU and the issue was present. I completed 500miles during mapping and running in with the misfire present before it began to show itself at even low rpm. as said though, one of the other supra's had ran for 5000miles on an emanage ultimate prior t...

Re: Help with EMU on 2JZ
if I was to say that usually you could drive through a misfire, this one you couldn't. it was like the whole engine cutting. the miss began only when coming onto boost, but then starting to masquerade itself at even low RPM at any kind of load. it was the most violent misfire I have ever heard and p...

Re: Help with EMU on 2JZ
2JZ-GE compression is 10.5:1
I was using the GTE gasket
stock GTE compression is 8.5:1
so im somewhere inbetween.
failure on all is big end bearing failure

Re: Help with EMU on 2JZ
Will pull file now and upload. Please give me 15 mins. I don't have photos of the tops of the pistons currently, although from what I could see there were no signs of det. Just seems too coincidental that other engines have suffered identical failures, especially as one was a proven engine. Not nece...

Re: Help with EMU on 2JZ
Just had word that 3 other supra's in the UK fitted with the EMU have also suffered bottom end failure. Supra's are just not know to suffer bottom end issues, especially at the power levels we were all using. One of the engines which has failed had ran an Emanage ultimate for 5000 miles prior to the...

Help with EMU on 2JZ
Hi, I have a mkiv supra fitted with a 2JZ-GE which has been converted to run a Borg Warner S360. I was running a EMU standalone and suffered bottom end failure due to ignition timing advance. I've been told that there is no Failsafe built into the EMU to prevent timing advance? Is this correct? Than...
