ECUMaster EMU first start on basemap, what to expect?
I'm getting ready to start my car for the first time on the ECUMaster EMU. I'm wondering if this is a bad idea when I don't have a wideband O2 sensor, I only have the stock O2 sensor at the moment. Will autotune work? Will I have any ability to adjust idle and the overall working of the engine, or w...

What wideband lambda sensor to use?
What is a good wideband lambda sensor to use with the ECUMaster EMU?
I want something that is known to be reliable and that works well with the EMU.
If it matters, this is for a 3S-GTE.

What vacuum hose diameter to use?
What inner diameter hose should I use to connect up to the built-in MAP sensor for the ECUMaster EMU?
Also, beyond the inner diameter, what type of hose should I use? Does it matter? Should I worry about the outer diameter as well as the type of material?

Re: VERSION 1.110 - New fueling model
1.1 is official version as in url :http://www.ecumaster.com/ testVersions.htm[/b]l 1.133 EXP 1 is an experimental version and issues can happen. I know, I'm just asking if I need to use 1.133 EXP 1 to get the features mentioned in version 1.110? :-) I can't find a separate download link for version...

Re: AFR unstable, idle hunt
Your AFR ´s are very high = lean, in closed loop normally Lambda is ideal 1.00, Ignition table is not really for driving..... Engine? Car? tell more. So I should change AFR to 1.0 for the cells that would be used for idling? However, even with the current AFR values being high, should it not be abl...

AFR unstable, idle hunt
I'm trying to create my own AFR and VE tables. Using the advanced fueling I get highly variable and highly unstable AFR readings. http://i60.tinypic.com/n3au78.jpg As the AFR value fluctuates it doesn't move outside of the 1.47 Lambda cells in the AFR table. In the ignition table, it stays mostly at...

Re: VERSION 1.110 - New fueling model
http://www.ecumaster.com/testVersions.html Is this the correct URL for downloading the new version? On that URL, I can only see version 1.133 EXP 1. Whereas http://ecumasterusa.com/tech-info/ only has 1.1 RC1. Using 1.133 EXP 1 the program crashes when attempting to set TPS max to 100% in the autotu...

Re: How does the ECU Master EMU use VE values?
In general you need to choose Advance fueling mode with Lambda target. Lambda is independent of the fuel you are using (1 is always stoichiometric). In Advance mode the change in lambda target automatically change the fuel flow. Still, it is not clear to me what Lambda is in normal fueling mode (no...

Re: How does the ECU Master EMU use VE values?
How does the ECU arrive at the constant INJ_CONST? How does it know what is lambda = 1 when it doesn't know what fuel is being used and therefore neither knows what a stoichiometric mixture ratio should be?
Note that I'm not saying the ECU does anything wrong. I'm just asking how does it do it.

How does the ECU Master EMU use VE values?
Having read parts of "Engine Management Advanced Tuning" (Greg Banish) and parts of the MegaSquirt documentation I have some questions about VE tables and how the ECU Master EMU deals with them. Please correct any mistakes in my reasoning. Also, please tell me how to enable TeX-style equations so th...

Re: Evaluate this tune? Any obvious mistakes?
I forgot to connect the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve), which I thought was the reason for a check engine light (and in hindsight probably the reason for it being hard to start as well?). However, after having connected the IACV, the check engine light is still there. Strangely, there is no "check en...

Re: Evaluate this tune? Any obvious mistakes?
IAT sensor is installed. The engine runs much richer, and is very hard to start (before, there were not really any issues, just it running very lean after having started in the first place, especially when giving it some throttle). The IAT sensor value was fixed to 65 degrees before, but it is in re...

Re: Evaluate this tune? Any obvious mistakes?
I'm worried the knock sensor is not installed correctly. When I look at the logs it never shows anything except on "Knock Engine Noise (V)", for this particular value, it seems to be correlated with RPM (when RPM is increasing), but sometimes it is inversely related (when RPM is lowered). Is this no...

Re: Evaluate this tune? Any obvious mistakes?
The only problem with your car is that the tuner isn't a tuner, and no the IAT doesn't make it look like that at all. Get a good basemap, install IAT, go to a real tuner an get it tuned. Where are you from? There has to be a real tuner around there somewere ? I'm in Norway. I have allocated some ti...

Re: Evaluate this tune? Any obvious mistakes?
I am probably just re-iterating what has already been said, but this map really is a total disaster all over and I would not push that engine at all until you get it improved. Do not go anywhere near that tuner again as it is very obvious they donot even understand the basic fundamentals of speed d...

Re: Evaluate this tune? Any obvious mistakes?
The VE and IGN table cannot look like this! IAT sensor must be connected because intake air temp. is substantial factor of fuel dose calculations. Are you sure it is critical to being able to drive around at all? My car has no IAT sensor, but it is perfectly drivable. The problems I stated above do...
