knock sensor voltage & 1 black plug
Dear members, I have 2 questions. 1. I put 2x VW 1.4 TSI knock sensors on a BMW M30 engine. The voltage becomes more than 5V at certain engine speeds and loads which is to much for the ECU. Should I use different knock sensors or use a voltage devider to cope with them? 2. The engine has 1 black plu...

Dyno and log window
Hi, I d/l V1.162 and have some issues and recommendations. DYNO For dyno feature within EMU, why is the vehicle speed signal not used? If the vehicle speed is known than it wouldn't need the RPM/SPEED ratio. right? Something to be changed in the future? LOG WINDOW (Graph 1/2/3) When I load a new log...

Hi Jadzwin,
What about Rotary / Wankel engine support? I know it is not scheduled yet but would like to know if it is planned?
Or should I look for another ECU?
BR,
Tomba

Re: LS2 Coil Question
1 ground is connected at the ECU ground point the other one is fixed on the valve cover. What do you mean with 1-2kOhm resitor in series? Should I place 1kOhm resitor in series of both grounds at each coil? Can the phenomena you mentioned be measured with an osciloscope? I have a 4 channel that coul...

Re: LS2 Coil Question
Hi, 3rd coil is out yesterday. I don't dwell them above 3 [ms]. What other things could damage them? Vibration? Heat? you do realize they have built in igniters?? so COILS WITH AMPLIFIER needs to be selected! Yes I have selected that. |Should these coils be used with ignition wires with/without res...

Re: LS2 Coil Question
Thank you grzesiekk, I wasn't that far of. Only problem I have now is that after a compression check, change in ignition wires (from MSD to regular built in resistor wires) and a correct ignition output sequence 2 coils have seem to failed. If I connect them to another plug were the coil is working ...

Thanks for your reply,
Can you get a screenshot from you settings for me?
It should work equally. I tried different settings yesterday and it didn't work with any of them.
BR,
Tomba

VSS - Vehicle speed sensor input
Hi All, sorry for asking so much at one time ;) . I want to use traction control on the car I am working on. This is a BMW E34 535i/Alpina B10 BiTurbo. The vehicle speed signal is comming from the differential sensor to the instrument cluster. In the instrument cluster the signal is transferred to o...

Autotune for boost control
Dear All, Could or is there a feature to "Autotune" the BOOST-PWM value used once the PID regulation of the boost control is active during a steady state point? The reason why I ask this is that I will go to the dyno soon to adjust an engine. Since there is already much to look out for (EGT, KNOCK, ...

Lambda regulation PID settings
Dear all, I have a question regarding the lambda regulation of the EMU. When I set the PID settings to default the EGO is onctrolling the mixture good at idle and low loads but on high engine speeds it is slow. To compensate I change the PID settings so it would adjust faster at higher engine speeds...

Re: LS2 Coil Question
I am currently using LS7 coils, would the ideal dwell time 3ms @ 14V? Although they look a bit different people say the specification is quite equal.
Could you post the datasheet in here so I can check what the optimum dwell should be in higher/lower voltage ranges?

Re: New feature - starting engine in wasted spark before syn
It uses the same output offset for wasted spark cranking as for fully sequentional ignition so you can ignore it Normally you would line up the ignition outputs to the cylinder number. For a straight six with ignition order 1-5-3-6-2-4 you would ignite 1-6, 2-5 & 3-4 in wasted spark mode. Currently...

Re: LSU 4.2 PID settings
Attached both PIDs of heater and pump current during starting the engine and heating up the sensor and some rev-ing of the engine. @ AFR 11-12 the car idles very good. But once I lower the VE value it rapidly changes to lean mixture (lower than AFR 13) and starts to stall. Connected the sensor to In...

LSU 4.2 PID settings
Dear all, I finally managed to get my car starting after setting the trigger settings correct. To measure the fuel/air mixture I placed a Bosch LSU 4.2 with P/N: 0 258 007 351 in the exhaust pipe. This is one of the longest cable versions which matched the stock narrow band lambda position on the ca...

Above settings worked! Set the ignition to 0 and O|T mark is in line with the mark on the timing chain cover.
Thanks again everyone for there help.
