Re: 2jzge vvti cam map
Here is mine. Need to verify it on dyno as it seems to be hard to road tune vvti. I can only watch how the lambda starts to read lean when dialing more advance, and so does torque increase the same time. I have BC 272 cams with fully built head and 63mm BorgWarner turbo so a bit different setup comp...

Re: Pops and bangs
Try to look into fueling -> fuel cut tab and see what happens when you change overrun fuel cut decay rate and resume enrichments. I really have no other clue other than just bump up fueling in the vacuum cells also. Maybe injection angle might have a desired effect if you try to inject "too late" in...

Re: Pops and bangs
You mean between shifts and when deaccelerating? I don't get bangs there because it cuts fuel immediately when lifting throttle. Rev limiter is ignition + fuel cut strategy and it's like AK47 gunshots when spinning 2nd and 3rd to 8200rpm's.

Re: 1jz vvti cam control issue
Vvti works now.
I guess the flyback diode did the trick and finding correct settings to operate the solenoid. About 175Hz, steady position DC 40%, PID control P, I, D gains on the low side below 1 for now. 5-10deg cam advance on idle gives nice rotary style idle operation.

Re: Possible bad ECU?
There is something really strange going on with your crank and cam trigger signals. Everything goes haywire suddendly for a split second when looking at the logs. Battery voltage drops down to below 10volts sometimes which is quite mystery also... It clearly loses trigger signal, but I don't think i...

Re: What vacuum hose diameter to use?
Mine is fuel/oil resistant nitrile rubber hose with approx ~4mm inner diameter. Works like a treat. Not your avarage garden rubber hose, but cost wise it was about 10€ for about 2 meter lenght.

Re: 1jz vvti cam control issue
Well I wired a flyback diode right before the connector. Something happened because the vvt-i cam gear stopped making noise and idle quality suffered badly (too much advance?). Well have to test more when I get new proper oil feed hose for the turbo. Without vvti the spool is about 3700-3800rpm and ...

1jz vvti cam control issue
Hi, New problem found now when the car is ready to get tuned. I can't get the cam angle to change at all. Cam offset is 583degs to get log show 0-1 cam angle when running and when I put ie. 20deg in the target table the solenoid DC rises, but cam angle stays exactly 0-1 all the time. Solenoid DC als...

Re: Sudden lean condition after warming up
I think, you just must tune your VE map properly. That would be true usually, but never saw such drastic change in afr's by just idling for a while. Well, installed new plugs and changed the wiring a bit as I had flex fuel connected to sensor ground and not to ecu/chassis ground. +12v feed to to th...

Sudden lean condition after warming up
Good morning, I've got quite unusual problem that I can't seem to figure out yet on my own. After cold start I can steadily idle the car, and after 5 mins or so, it's pretty rock solid lambda 1 idle between 850-950 rpm's. After coolant temps achieve +80c (81-84c) and it's idling without any issues f...
