Re: 1zz/2zz canbus for dash
The apexi did come to mind. It's still a bit of a go-to in the MR2 Roadster community for this reason. I opted against it for the lack of knock control, and frankly everything else EMB does that the PFC doesn't. I wonder if they worked with Toyota directly as I can't help but think that reverse engi...

Re: 1zz/2zz canbus for dash
Greg at RRR has now installed the Black on one of our MR2s and has had to keep the stock ECU for a variety of reasons. The only outstanding functionality is idle-up on A/C. But that's my problem for wanting A/C :) :) Having said that, the idle control strategy covers that nicely anyway once it detec...

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Are we likely to see Toyota early CAN-BUS communications start to be supported? I believe they call in "BEAN" and is in most of the JZ swap platforms from around 1999. LINK ECU's already have the ability to access the network so currently has one up on those of us trying to use the ECUMaster EMU Bl...

Re: 1zz/2zz canbus for dash
The plot thickens.
So it seems a lot (or all) of the 1zz/2zz cars don't actually use CAN to transmit certain sensor data but uses the Toyota BEANs network instead.
No chance

I'm guessing it's more a case of being the other way around.

1zz/2zz canbus for dash
I noticed in the latest test software that there is full support for the Lotus 2zz cable throttle dash over CAN. Am I right in thinking the only differences between the Lotus and Toyota implementations are the plugs? And as the 2zz-ge OEM ecu plugs directly into the plugs for the 1zz-fe loom (couple...
