I think you can use analog input and potentiometer or rotational switch for Boost change using EMU. I did never ever used external boost controler after installing Ecus like MOtec, Haltech, EMU .......... they all work better then every external BC. Why ? Because they know what is your engine doing...

With firmwares after 1.161 there is problem with launch controll retard, launch controll work like rev limiter without retard and cant build boost at all. Good feature in software will be to remove ignition retard what is delta from main ignition map in the moment, and replace it with exact(static) ...
