Re: sw20 3sgte losing sync
One more thing though. It could be at certain point in time someone disassembled the distributor to replace the inner seal and bearing. When this is done you need to align the magnets on the sensor to the trigger wheel. There is only one specific position , when the wheel is close enough to both tri...

Re: sw20 3sgte losing sync
Make sure that the cables running from distributor to the EMU are shielded from interference of other signals. At some point someone may have decided to remove the shielding. if loom wasn't tampered with you should need to shield probably only the part , where you have cut the stock loom to attach t...

Re: Toyota Mr2 3sge plug and play EMU
It is perfectly compatible. There is a 3sgte map flying around the forum. Find it and take the ignition settings from there. They are the same on 3SGE and 3SGTE. You can open the map via the EMU software, even ,if you don't yet own EMU .

Re: Toyota Mr2 3sge plug and play EMU
There is no direct plug and play. The ECus differ sometimes by a few cable positions sometimes, by more. Best approach is to open the ECU and provide the pinout(its written on the board) to someone like ATS.Keep in mind you won't get too much from a 3sge even with EMU. Either swap a 3sgte inside, or...

This is more for GEN3. On gen2 injectors are 440CC. Make sure you adjust that prior to any tunning.

Re: Knock detected when going off throttle
Yes i agree, however knock under low load and heavy load sound different, so i had no other choice, but to induce some knock under low boost like 0,5 bar to see how it spikes on the sensor. Its spike was clearly louder than the offthrottle one, so it was possible to make adjustments. And i have dest...

Re: Knock detected when going off throttle
Some update here, i seem to have been able to reduce the impact of this phenomenon by adjusting the knock sensor settings. I have induced knock under boost, to see what the voltage look like compared to the spike , when letting off. It seems the real knock, is a lot more louder under boost than the ...

Re: Hot Starting on 3sgte 2nd gen
It can be a faulty EMU. I had the same problem , although mine never got started at all. There was no cam signal at all, no matter cold, or hot, so be advised. Ecumaster replaced some chip in the EMU and its working flawlessly since then

Re: Issues with boost control - very unstable
Whats the catch with teh Map Filter 3 ? I understand that it will filter the signal more aggresively and possibly eliminate wrong map readings under high boost. I have the same problem mentioned here, i just can't make the closed loop work, the spikes are too big, for some reason , so i am using the...

Knock detected when going off throttle
Hello, i was wondering ,if anyone else is experiencing this phenomenon. Sometimes, mostly when the intake is still cold, but engine is already at operating temperature i am experiencing a large spike under the knock voltage, when going off throttle. This happens only, if the car was under boost befo...

Re: Injector Latency Help
Sometimes there are such problems with big injectors. Small squirts are not flow matched, so the car seems to run quite different AFR for the different cylinders, and you just can't get it right. Try to adjust a bit injector trims and see if it make a difference. If it does then this is your problem.

Re: Ignition timing mismatch - Solved
That is strange , it seems you cannot adjust the settings to come up to around 2.5v. Maybe your sensor should be calibrated differently. Maybe try to induce a bit of knock like putting 40degrees of timing around 70kpa/2000rpm. And then try to adjust the frequency like putting 13KHZ or something and ...

Re: Ignition timing mismatch - Solved
Here they are: knock frequency: 6.64khz Gain: 0.111 - I prefer lower in order to run lower integrator, but there is no lower setting. Integrator: 360uSec I am using the stock 3SGTE gen2 sensor, not sure, why some people find it noisy, for me its pretty fine. Yeah i know, its hard to distinguish ligh...

Ignition timing mismatch - Solved
Hello, i am having the following issue with my timing. Around specific area in the table the timing seems to go out of sync with the table and for some reason the EMU adds a few degrees of timing. This does not happen every time. I am concerned that this can be quite dangerous, if it happens under h...

Re: unstable AFR
Hi,
you said that AFR changes, but by how much ? If it changes like 10% under low load conditions that is pretty much normal due to the engine getting very hot, however if it changes a lot under WOT then there is definetly something wrong.

Re: boost target?
Open loop is set based on the DC REF table. There you fill in the Percentage your solenoid needs to open. You can tick the MAP based DC ref Table tick in parameters. That way you can setup the percentage based on map values. I find it easier to understand and more consistent for my applications. If ...

Some issue that i have been experiencing on 1.161 FW. From time to time there is no Acceleration Enrichement in between the shifts. See the attached image from a log. You can see the shift point at 7K rpm and you can see the drop on the TPS. After that you can see the raise in the TPS, but you can s...

Re: Strange blank spots in log
Ok problem found :( it was the slow laptop indeed. Pentium M just cant cope with the EMU software, and log. I modded my work laptop to be able to run the EMU, its an I5 processor. It was flawless, didn't miss a beat. CPU couldn't even get to 10%, so the blank spots were a product of HW not being abl...
