SOLVED! Re: Getting a pressure signal from the on-board MAP sensor
SOLVED. One I realized the on-board MAP sensor was tied to Analog #2 (this really should be in the manual), I also realized I had already wired Analog Input #4 to ground. That is why there was no voltage output. I think I'll simply remove the wire I installed into the DET3 connector so that I don't ...

Re: Getting a pressure signal from the on-board MAP sensor
I also just found there is no output voltage displayed in the lower right-hand corner window of the Fuel Table tab, called "Log". There is no voltage registered on "Analog#2 In". I wonder if the device is damaged??

Need sensor definition file for my AFM signsl
Strangely, my AFM signal outputs 5V when it’s closed, and 0V when it’s open. Backwards from most. The sensor input on the fuel table reads 0-5V, and this makes it very difficult to manage with my AFM signal output. Is there a way to rewrite the liner sensor definition file to account for a 5V to 0V ...

Fuel Table: Modify vs Load
I don’t fully understand how these two functions work. If I set the “Modify” attribute to my AFM output signal (Analog Input #1), the engine will run just fine. I don’t understand why this works for the “Modify” attribute, and not “Load”. What is the difference between Modify and Load? I don’t under...

Re: Getting a pressure signal from the on-board MAP sensor
It’s been a long time since my last reply. I had to prioritize other things in place of trying to configure this device. So, I now believe the wiring diagram I was issued is wrong: assigning two inputs to the same AFM output. I’m not sure why the diagram showed that (AFM output assigned to Analog #1...

Re: No signal on Input #2
Hi -
I have the 4 bar unit (I think). Not sure how to tell actually. The box doesn't say either. I have a barbed nipple on the end of the unit.

No signal on Input #2
I read today that this Input is the input tied directly to the MAP sensor (on-board). If I'm getting no signal on that input (flat-line) on the log files (real time and those that are saved), could that mean the sensor is not working?

Re: Getting a pressure signal from the on-board MAP sensor
Hey, thanks for the reply. Sorry for the belated reply, I didn't get a notice saying there was a reply to this. I must have to set that up in my profile somewhere. :) Interesting...how did you figure this out? Is that in the manual somewhere? I'm getting no response from Input #2. The way I have min...

Re: So i think i fried my DET3...
If you have a turbo car, you shouldn't use the TPS signal at all. You want to use the MAP sensor pressure signal as load.

Voltage from AFM to analog input
I have the DET3 installed on my MR2 Turbo and I'm trying to determine how to tell the DET3 about the voltage output from this sensor (for analog input). The definition files that are pre-loaded in the software setup do not have a file for this type of AFM. This sensor is not a liner 0-5V sensor. It ...

Getting a pressure signal from the on-board MAP sensor
Hi all - I'm trying to determine if I simply have a bad unit, or if I'm not doing something right? Should I be getting a signal from the on-board 4 bar MAP sensor somehow? If so, where do I see this signal? Should it show up in the data log as pressure? If so, is it attached to one of the analog sig...

Re: Can only view the last 40 seconds of Logfiles
Holy Fudge Cakes! I figured it out. You have to de-select the "Enable Log" button on the lower left-hand corner of the program window. Ugh. Page 38 of the manual describing this feature as "...rewinding and analyzing of the log". Then, you can scroll backwards.

Can only view the last 40 seconds of Logfiles
After I'm done collecting data in a new logfile ("Log Window (F5)" in the DET3 Client software program), and save the logfile ("Save Log" option in the File menu), I'm only able to see the last 40 seconds of the logfile. ?? I know there is more data there, based on the total "Time" count in the yell...

Re: Eliminating an AFM in Fuel Implant Mode
In FIT mode you use the internal MAP sensor as your load reference to control the injectors directly - The stock ECU has NO CONTROL of the injectors while in FIT mode. As your are NOT fudging the AFM signal, the Stock ECU will not compemsate by adjusting timing :) You will be required to add a AIT ...

Re: E85 fuel
Ok, thanks. Yeah, that is what I was figuring was happening. It makes sense, after reading about the "learning" the DET3 is doing while running the car with the AFM attached initially. It appears that it builds a 3D map from logging data. I wonder if this is just fueling data, or also timing. I read...

Re: E85 fuel
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, ok. I read that some people are putting in the DET3 while still using the AFM and logging/recording to generate a a fuel map. I'm assuming this is to be used in the FIT mode, correct? I *could* do that, except I would have to also go back to my stock injectors (440cc) to ...

Re: E85 fuel
Interesting... Ok, yeah, my concern is actually being able to control the timing so that while tricking the ECU, it DOESN'T advance the timing simulating a lower load environment. I would be happy to install a smaller injector (I have 1200cc), but I don't know how large a range the piggyback mode ca...

Eliminating an AFM in Fuel Implant Mode
Hey guys - I'm a little confused as to whether or not I can eliminate my AFM (on my MR2) while using the fuel implant mode. I was reading a post on a Supra forum suggesting that if you use piggyback mode, you can convert the generate the required AFM signal to the OEM ECU by using a table referencin...

Re: E85 fuel
Thanks for the speedy reply! Ok, interesting...how is that we don't know what size injector could be used in piggyback mode? Wouldn't this be necessary in the design criteria of the unit? It does make sense though that I couldn't find it published anywhere. :) Secondly, this is on a Toyota MR2 Turbo...

E85 fuel
Is anyone using the DET3 and running E85? What is necessary to do this effectively?
Thanks.
