Bluetooth Adapter on EMU Black
I'm wiring in a serial port for the Bluetooth adapter (not DL-1). The BT adapter needs 3.3V, and the only output on the black is 5v. Is this "safe" for the BT module, or do I need to lower voltage to 3.3V?

Re: Strange Spike in Log
He does not mean the PNP adapter wiring, but the factory engine harness wiring may have a bad ground. Get out your multimeter and check the EMU grounds to your intake manifold. I have seen both issues with ground wiring to PNP adapter, and power supply +12v (corroded factory connections). Check them...

Pepifebles, the only reason to adjust what you see in the EMU is to more accurately display what the gauge shows. It is important for using target lambda (AFR) that the data the EMU sees is accurate.

Hi any ideas anyone? I am replacing my steering wheel so good moment to fiddle with the tacho again due to easier access A friend told me the tacho is just a voltometer which means I need just to calculate an appropriate resitor.. Correct? Did you check capacitors yet? 99% chance that is your only ...

Re: Emu not stable volt reading from Ecu
That is not abnormal, and remember your digital voltmeter probably has a built-in "buffer" to make it easier to read. Usually when I have an unstable Voltage reading at the EMU, it is due to either a wiring issue, or the alternator itself is just noisy. I had one alternator that was really noisy, an...

Re: 3sgte tacho multiplier
The stock tach gets it's signal from the stock igniter, not the EMU (unless you have replaced the ignition system with aftermarket). I'd replace the capacitors in the tach first, and see if that solves your issue. While it's apart replace the speedo caps as well if it's electronic speedo.

Re: EMU Black vs Silver versions, what is the difference?
I'm in US, have a silver one and have tuned several black ones and my silver one seems to work the same. :?: :?: Early versions were silver, and as far as I know usable in any country. I think we tuned/sold about 20-25 that are silver, before Wholesale Horsepower became the US Distributor, and deci...

Re: Oxygen sensor setup question.
Hi, I'm using external lambda controler, the question is, When configuring oxygen sensor can I use-see lambda values instead of AFR? If not, is it possible to add a new fuel with specific AFR? Thanks Yes, you can see lambda with external controller, just be sure the controller grounds where your EM...

Re: 3SGTE Speed (km/h)
Some of the MR2 speed sensors are NOISY!! and virtually unusable, but the wiring is getting pretty old, so that's to be expected.
I just set the cruise control, to give my phone GPS time to get "accurate" then dial in the speed ratio, or adjust it on the dyno.

Go to Sensors/VSS and Gearbox. sensor type Hall Falling frequency divider set to 1 enable pull-up Then set Speed Ratio until vehicle speedo (Or your GPS) and EMU log match. I run about .852 to get my speed to match MPH. If you have an electronically driven speedometer in your Toyota (most 93+), chec...

Re: Strange blank spots in log
The 3sgte in the MR2 is very prone to wiring harness trouble below the fusebox near the strut tower in the body harness. Toyota in their infinite wisdom put several un-sealed splices in the section of harness, and they will corrode. There is another splice near the ECU connector that provides power ...

Re: Review 3sgte Ignition Map
What does your knock sensor tell you? That's a loaded question, you may not be using one, but they are very helpful in situations like this. Every engine is different, and safe timing on one could damage another. That being said... At the very least run the same timing as 210 in 230 Load column. and...

Re: 3sgte car wont start with EMU, starts fine with stock EC
On your wideband, does it react to any changes at all? Or is it stuck at one AFR regardless of change on the gauge? It it only displays ONE AFR then I would imagine it's an issue with the wiring Yes, the log he sent me has 0v on all 4 analog channels, and it's displaying 7.3AFR constantly as it's c...

Re: IAT Correction on tuned engine
Scott, So let me get this straight. On the Charge Temp Table 0% = IAT reading 100% = CLT reading I'm a bit of a noob here, so forgive me, but I don't see how this really works. Obviously when you're at a slow speed, the actual IAT is hot because the FMIC isn't really working. As you begin to move, ...

Re: IAT Correction on tuned engine
Charge temp tables are used for when coolant runs to the TB correct? Megasquirt calls it the "MAT/CLT Correlation" table. But I don't use coolant through the TB. Currently I am using Basic AFR. I plan to move over to advance when I get my new injectors since I have to retune anyway. No, Charge temp...

Re: IAT Correction on tuned engine
Everyone says that, but for me, it actually requires less fuel for me. On every car that I tune (from my dad's GTR, to my wife's miata, and even the R32), my MAT/IAT/whatever you want to call it always ends up making a U. I'll have to remove fuel when cold, and as it hit's summer, I have to remove ...
