EMU Software 1.070 Available - Roling antilag v1

Hi all!

There is new software version available 1.070

Actually anti lag is working but we DID NOT TEST IT IN REAL APPLICATION.
During drive activate strategy by switch, the target RPM will be stored.
It will not work under 1000 RPM.
Then the EMU will try to keep boost target and target RPM.
If your boost will be under the target lower boost kP otherwise increase boost kP.
Control range is the RPM range below the target RPM when the boost and RPM limit is performed.

Any comments will be very valuable.

Next improvement is Frequency input divider for VSS input. It is useful for high frequency signals (eg. Honda vss).
There is also new option for FlexFuel sensor. Now it can be also connected to the VSS input.

For windows client there are two improements:
1) The status bar shows now state of different strategies:
Image
Abbreviation:
LC - Launch control
FC - Fuel cut
SC - Spark cut (for any strategy that use spark cut percent)
ALS - Anti lag
KS - Knocking
RAL - Rolling antilag
POx - State of parametric output

2) On About box there is device uniqe serial number displayed

The software can be downloaded here:

Jakub,
Can you pls explain term of rolling antilag?
I know how ALS work and different strategies of making effective ALS. I have done it with fixed open throttle and with kicker valve, i know strategies with DBW throttle and feeding extra air directly to ex manifold, but never heard about rolling...

It works like this. You drive the car, press the button and maximum throttle.
The roling anti lag strategy will build desired boost level and keep the RPM that was present during pushing button.
If you release the button you have the built boost and desired RPM to make good start.

If is very usefull for street racing when you roll waiting for green light.

so its the same as flat shift or launch control ? only difference is its varible depending on button push ( used to be called variable launch on megasquirt ) im no coder but wouldnt it have been easyer to just do varible launch and save space for other stuff on the ecu ? not that im complaining :)

Sounds like normal launch control to me then. There is an option for activation I/P and VSS window in LC function, so i don´t quite understand idea behind this one.
ALS is normally known for keep turbo revving when off throttle at engine deceleration during braking.

yes that what i always thought by means of some sort of valve that when active it opens valve while foot is off throttle and the engine revs and hold boost thats my understanding of that
nice to have als but nasty on the turbo :(

It is a little bit different. The target RPM is engaged by the switch and the boost target is defined.
This feature is very popular in USA.

We have tested today this feature and it doesn't work correctly in 1.070
After some correction it works very promising. We need to improve spark cut rev limit and RAL will work perfect.

We have also notice some problems with windows client crashes in this version.

Sorry, i still dont understand the difference.
There is a launch RPM activation and cutoff RPM limit too. OK, there is no boost target, but this can be adjusted with RPM and ignition retard. There is also input for activating push SW. So what is so special about this feature?

That RPM target is set by switch not fixed in device configuration.

Ok, i see. Most ecus have option for wiring-in pot to make launch level adjustable without PC

yep but it is a little bit different... You roll the car to waiting for green light, it is easier to set target RPM by switch than by pot.
But it is similar to LC

Hi, thanks for the Rolling ALS function, it would be great for us since we do lots of street racing while we are on the move, but I would suggest that you let the user to control how much spark it should cut and what timing retard, same thing for enriching the fuel mixture, this way it will be fully customizable based on the needs and size of turbo. thanks for the the flags bar as well, it's a great add to identify what is working on the fly :) Good job guys.

The EMU is a great "bang for the buck" ecu but the new Rolling Antilag feature will be great!
I´ll get an EMU in spring next year!

I need this feature...

Disable CAM sync above given RPM. Works on multitooth cranktriggers?

Yes it should work with any universal trigger.

How this is different from other LC strategies, for example you are driving on the highway 100km/h, a car comes next to you and wants to race, you hold the button, the rpm at that moment gets hold and boost builds up while flooring the throttle. Then let go off the button and launch away. If I am not correct please correct me.

This is a wonderfull option for roll racing.
