1JZ Chaser wiring (JZX90)

Post by rhs » Thu Mar 10, 2016 11:42 pm

I long ago found out I shot myself in the foot by starting with a JZX90 Chaser (4-row, same as Soarer) 1JZ into my Supra. It's non-vvti. I'm trying to make a patch harness from the chaser plugs to the universal EMU, but am a bit confused on some things. Bear with me, I'm no wiring master.

1. Crank and cam position sensors as have a "+" and "-" for the stock ECU. For the standalone should the "-" all go to sensor ground?

2. Does crank sensor "+" go to primary trigger in?

3. Where do the two cam position sensor "+" go? Camsync or one Analog In for each? Also, what is Camsync...?

4. I have a 3-wire wideband. I know there's a heater pin, but where would the other two wires go? The stock ECU has one pin for Oxygen Sensor. But I'm seeing WBO Ip, WBO Vs, and WBO Vs/Ip...

5. The stock ECU has a pin for Ignitor Feedback, but I'm not sure where that would go to the standalone.

6. For the 3 12V Power pins in the stock ECU, do they all go to the one 12V Power pin in the standalone?

7. For Signal Ground, Main Relay Ground, Diag Ground, and other grounds, do they go to any Power Ground pin? I see the ECU Ground goes to ECU Ground.

8. The stock ECU has a speed sensor "+", "-", In. I see the standalone has VSS In, but I'm not sure where the "+" and "-" are to go.

9. Stock ECU has External Load Input. Where should this go?

Thanks in advance. I'm sure I'll have more questions. I need to double check which pins my current harness has since it was custom and some may have been removed.

ADD1) YES
ADD2) YES
ADD3) you will use only one CAM sensor and it goes to secondary trigger
ADD4) I didnt seen any 3wire wideband
ADD5) no need to use ignitor at all, if you still use it, dont use the ignitor feedback
ADD6) Connect all 12V together and then one wire into the EMU
ADD7) all grouds together on strong grounding point, only the Signal ground will be connected just to the sensors (its a reference point)
ADD8) Use osciloscope to find the correct polarity, or just try, when do you have some trouble (schould not have even if its wrong way connected) switch the pins
ADD9) To the analog input, and after you can use it as correction for rising idle valve duty to compensate higher load on engine

Thanks. To clarify, the one cam sensor "+" goes to Camsync #1? I'm not seeing a secondary trigger on the pinout. Or do I pin to an Analog then set the secondary trigger in the program?

The stock oxygen sensor is 3-wire. I think one is ground for the heater, one wire for the heater from the ECU, and the third is the signal. I'm just not sure which WBO to pin to.

Couple more pins I forgot to ask about:

1. Starter motor to AUX?

2. There are 5 pins for idle: ISCV #1 through #4 and Throttle Idle Switch.

3. Ignition switch from stock ecu to Analog?

forget it, you really dont need to connect everything to analog inputs of the EMU.........

secondary cam sensor is not needed.

................. now its time to learn something, i would not hold you on hand and do teach you everything.

Help ist HELP, not teaching.

Good Luck
