Can anyone explain what the dwell error log channel is actually showing?? and what causes dwell errors??
we have an engine that has some missfire problems and its also showing activity on this log trace.
dwell error log channel
Re: dwell error log channel
It shows real dweel time - required dwell time..
If there are trigger errors real dwell time will differ from required time and there will be "noise" on dwell error
This channel is very valuable to detect trigger issues.
There is also noise when Spark cut is performed (eg. during ALS or Launch Control). In such situation this is ok

Re: dwell error log channel
ok so in the case of secondary trigger errors (Which is what we were suffering) the ecu is trying to send another ignition signal to an ignition OP before it has executed a full dwell duration on the current ignition event is that right?
BTW we fixed the problem just by lowering the sensitivity rpm
