Does the ECU device by default have logging enabled? By logging I mean logging when a computer is NOT connected to the device. Is it possible to enable/disable this type of logging, if so, how?
My main question is, however: How do I download the logs, given that logging is enabled at all?
In the manual, it is stated that: "During first connection to the EMU device, there will appear a window with the device name. By default there will be device unique serial number what user can change for any name. Based on this name there will be sub-directory created in directory My documents / EMU. In this subdirectory there will be stored desktop configuration for given EMU, and projects and logs will be saved."
This is fine, I can see this directory, and when I save a project, it saves a .emu file to this specified directory. But no logging files are saved, at least not by default.
The manual also states: "Projects extension is *.emu. Data logs are saved with extension *.emulog."
I have searched my entire file system for files with the .emulog extension, none are found. I did this simply to make sure that the log files are not stored elsewhere, they are certainly not stored together with the .emu file.
Other than that, not much information is given about the logging features of the system. It is specified how to toggle event logging in real time and features like that.
Please note again that I'm not asking how to perform logging while a computer is connected by USB, but how to extract logs that are generated (if they are generated at all) while the engine is running and the car is being driven and no computer is connected during this time. Of course a computer must be connected to download the logs eventually, I'm just pointing out that I'm talking about logs that are generated while no computer is connected.
Thanks!
How to download the logs from the ECU?
Re: How to download the logs from the ECU?
The EMU doesn't have onboard ecu logging memory. PC logging only with this system.
