2jzge base map help
Hey guys, working on a 2jzge just got the EMU in.
I'm working on the crank/cam trigger and I have these as settings, sometimes I can get it to sync, and sometimes it won't.
Any ideas?

Hi. I have built a supra na t.
wonder if you have the wiring diagram from emu to 2jz-ge ??.
and if you have a startup map?

what did you figure out? I'm currently attempting first start ups of my Supra using rear cam sensor and lq9 coils.ihiryu wrote:Never mind, finally got scope working.

Oh there is, and apparently it' changes the entire game when it comes to aftermarket ECU's and the 2JZ. Still trying to figure out exactly what it changes. I've heard there is a different firing order and or adjustments to teeth on the primary trigger.. If anyone has a setup on a 2JZ with rear cam sensor used please speak upihiryu wrote:rear?

These are my settings using the Rear Cam Sensor on a 2JZ-GE with LS2 Coils. Its started and rough idle. I need to lock timing and move on from there but these settings got it started.

Are you talking about the one on the left side by the fuel rail?
If so, what's the pro's and con's of this??

You're confused, only the non-vvti 2JZ-GTE has two cam sensors. One in the middle of the head, one on the rear. And the teeth are 180 degrees apart, so depending on which sensor you use your ignition events could be 360 degrees out, so you would change the ignition events to suit.Soupedsupra wrote:Oh there is, and apparently it' changes the entire game when it comes to aftermarket ECU's and the 2JZ. The non-vvti 2JZ-GE has a distributor that has a crank position trigger and two sync signals built in. Similar story to the non-vvti 2JZGTE on how they're arranged, so you could run into the issue with the firing order being 360 degrees out.
All VVTi JZ motors have a single 3 tooth cam position sensor and a 36-2 crank trigger wheel (meaning 36 evenly spaced teeth, but two adjacent teeth are missing to allow the ECU to locate TDC since the cam position is variable).
The moral of this story is first check your timing on the cam gear to ensure that cylinder one fires when the cam gear mark is at 12 o'clock, not 6 o'clock, then adjust your trigger angle with the timing locked using a timing light on the crank pulley.

Re: 2jzge base map help
Yes sir, I did exactly that with the timing light on the cam gear. Pulled the fuse for my fuel delivery and actually used the slo mo video on my iPhone to record where the light pulses where. Tried several firing orders until I saw the pulses at 12 o'clock. Put the fuel fuse back in adjusted some start up fuel tables and she fired up.WHPZach wrote:You're confused, only the non-vvti 2JZ-GTE has two cam sensors. By the way I have a 2jzge non vvti engine. I drilled and welded in a cam sensor in the rear position. And I'm running GTE cams for the sensor pick ups since my GE cams didn't have them. A bit of a Frankenstein build but it's coming along
