Hi,
I recently bought an EMU standalone system. I bought it from a somebody who got it for his 2jz project but never got the engine to sold it off. Now I was trying to test the EMU by connecting it to my computer, but my computer cant seem to detect it. I checked the cable, its good. I also changed ports, but nothing. The EMU was unused according to the guy and the box also looked new.
Am I doing something wrong? I connected EMU <---gold plated USB to USB---> PC.
Please let me know if there is any switch or any wiring that I am missing here.
thanks for the help.
PC cant detect EMU
Re: PC cant detect EMU
Hi I'm pretty sure the ecu needs to be powered up from the 12v supply like in the car

Can you please tell me which pins need to powered up?? Then I can try to give a 12v power there and see if the ECU is good or not. Need to test it first.

Power the EMU with a power wire at G18 and ground at B17...directly to the battery....and see if USB will connect

Re: PC cant detect EMU
Thank you scooter. I did that. The PC detected something and installed. But now when I try to open the ECUmaster engine management client software,it shuts down with an error message, "this device is not able to work with US Windows Version!". and then the app shuts down. I tried another computer and same thing. I tried a dell laptop with original windows 10 but still the same massage. I also tried to run the program with compatibility mode but no luck. If I dont connect the device then the software runs fine.Scooter wrote:Power the EMU with a power wire at G18 and ground at B17...directly to the battery....and see if USB will connect
What to do now?
