GM LT1 Optispark setup

Post by Grey » Wed May 27, 2015 9:15 am

Hi,
I am just about to install a EMU on a Chevy LT1 V8 with Optispark.
I am not sure if it will work, have anyone tried it before?

If the trigger pattern is not able from scratch, will there be possible to get the trigger pattern added to the software?

Some info about optispark: http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/0310ht ... modifying/

Thanks,
Joakim

Many thanks for the answer,
That sounds correct, the optispark comes from a japanese development so i guess it is just modified for 8 cylinders.
The nissan seems to have 4 or 6 inner slits while optispark has 8. Do you Think that it will be any problems that the trigger pattern is a bit different?
If so, maybe it is a fast fix to get the optispark added (with 8 slits instead of the nissan 4 and 6 slits)?

Does anyone have a Connection diagram / Pinout for the nissan trigger to EMU?
The Optispark has 4 pins:
1 = Low resolution signal (8 slits)
2 = Distributor reference low signal
3 = Ignition voltage
4 = High resolution signal (360 slits)

I cannot make out what the 2nd pin (Dist ref signal) is, is it sensor ground?
Do i connect the low resolution signal to the secondary trigger and the high resolution signal to the primary trigger?

Best regards,
Joakim

Hi

It should work as nissan trigger. You conenct high resolution signal to prim tirgger and low res to sec. trigger.
Later I will send base map from nissan V8 engine.

Sounds great!
I will confirm that it works and you can add the Optispark to the trigger list.
