WBO Relay wiring
Post

Can we wire up the WBO like this??
i could just connect the relay to the fuel pump O/P but there are a couple good reasons i dont want to do that mostly so the factory wiring can be maintained when making a harness adapter so that the WBO can be switched on before the engine starts in the cases of setting up the cold start ansd ASE settings.

It will not work because WBO heater is PWM controlled in close loop. There is no reason to do this.

ok no problem!! i can figure out some other way to send low side signal to the relay when the ignition is on but eng not running.

You can use parametric output from EMU

(rpm < 1)

Why would you need it? There`s an option in "Sensor setup - O2 sensor" to "Enable when no RPM"

yes exactly thats what im trying to utilize. The issue is eom wiring uses a relay to power up the O2 heater and i need to turn that relay on with an earth signal somehow when the engine is not running, normally you could just turn it on with the fuel pump relay but then it will not activate with the engine stopped to pre-heat the sensor for setting up the starting and warm up fuel settings etc.
As it turns out I may install a little pcb style relay in the adapter harness to activate/earth the main relay so i can just activate both relays at the same time. That way the ecu can also get power directly from the main relay and wont be powered from the ignition switch wiring. This solves both problems at once while also freeing up another Output!
