Marelli IAW Lancia, boost and engine shutdown issues

Post by BMWCanary » Fri Aug 14, 2015 10:52 pm

Hi,

I´m currently having problems with an old Lancia Delta Evo1. The Boost is self limitated up to 180 kpa ( MAP )aprox, instead of 250 kpa in table target, and the engine auto shut around 4800 rpm.
It use a similar OEM ecu to the ford escort cosworth and as I wrote previusly on other post this was resolved using higher flow injectors but in our case.
We are runnig 400cc at 3.6 bar and are not rising more than 52% DC when engine shut.
Watching the Log recorded, it looks like ecu self protection. At full thottle the TPS possition drop to 0% wich mean no 5V supply, the injector DC drop to 0% also.

The trigger sync status still Ok all the time with no errors recorded.

Any idea????

attached the EMU Log recorded for help.

Thanks

Looks like missfire to me. You can see rpm fluktulation and lean spikes (unburnd mixture in exhaust).

So i would recommend you gap sparks to 0,7mm , clean them or replace with new. Try to play with DWELL of coils, and try if it helps or not.....

It could be but having a missfire the TPS signal, PWM injectors should not go to 0 when the engine shutdown. The RPM limit is set at 7500 rpm.
We are running NGK 9 rate cold spark plugs at 0.8mm gap and maximun dwell at the coils can safely run.

Sorry guys !!!!!

I found it... how simple was.......!!!!!! sometimes the most simple and stupid.....
Cheking the the setting again. The rpm soft limit was set to 5000 rpm

The boost is not resolve yet. but I'm suspecting that something is wrong with the valve.....

You can disable boost controler for test and use PWM table to control the solenoid.
Try different DC and check if it influences the boost
