Hi everybody,

I just started using the antilag function. I also made it work, but I noticed, that I don't really know, how to set an antilag system properly :mrgreen: I mean, I am able to get flames out of my exaust :mrgreen:

But to get serious, who is using antilag properly for rally or hillclimb and wants to send me his maps for example of tuning? Also I'm glad for any hints or advices :)

First of all if your car has vacuum assisted brakes you will need to either convert to non assisted pedal box or fit some type of vacuum pump to keep the brakes working. You also want some device to allow extra air to bypass throttle, a kicker or solenoid etc.

I have a bypass valve, which is original used for A/C compensation. Also I have set the idle valve to 100% while antilag. Do you think, I need a kicker either?

But my main problem till yet would be, how to set ignition cut, timing and fuel enrichment?

Also you can use cruse control device from any other car and start the ALS in open throttle mode its easier and more effective from what I have used :)

plus use fuel cut idle, its better than ignition cut, and cools the engine down when its on idle ;)

I also would be very interested in any sample of working ALS settings, I'm trying really hard to get it to work in any way, but still with no effect, I can't even get it to do any flames... Maybe there is some problem with my idle valve config, as I use ignition cut for idle, and idle valve only for antilag.

Anyway, if anyone uses ALS for rally or hillclimb, please post any information about Your setup - even screenshots are very welcome.

my settings on my 1jzgte and holset hy35.
while engaged, the idle is between 1200-1400rpm. manifold vacc is around -0.1bar. I keep my tps trigger low so that its a little easier to drive at low speeds without triggering the ALS. at lower rpm shifting, the ALS is adequate. at high rpm, there still isn't enough airflow coming through the IACV so fuel will load into the exhaust and backfire on longer intervals with much larger bangs and bigger flames. I do not like this because its much more violent and less productive. but shifting around 3500rpm, the ALS works perfect. enough bangs and enough turbo speed that low rpm boost comes back very fast.

Hi,
I aktually noticed, that anti lag does not work right without enough air, but I'm also not able to set through enough with the idle valve. So I'm planning to swap my throttle body to drive by wire, this has a lot of advantages for idle control and anti lag or launchcontrol :)

one thing you might want to try, is to set your base idle rpm by readjusting your throttle body set screw. once your car is warmed up, plug the iacv inlet hose so that its no longer allowing air. this will show your base idle rpm. if its lower than what you want, you can readjust the set screw to hold the throttle open further until you achieve your base rpm.

then the iacv, even at 0% dc, should still let the engine idle at your desired rpm. then the iacv will only Raise the idle and allow extra air to go over the base rpm.

for me, im pretty sure i set my base at 900rpm. so my iacv doesn't need as much DC to hold my idle. this might be enough to get some function from the ALS but even i still need more airflow, like a throttle kicker.

ps; ive blown out the gasket between my downpipe and turbine housing now. turbo is still healthy though.
