Fiat coupe 20VT ignition configuration

Post by Laurysr » Sun Oct 18, 2015 10:32 pm

Hello, just wondering if emu supports 5cyl ignition
It has a vr crank sensor , 60-2 trigger wheel and ive heard it has trigger at 270degrees BTDC . How would that be configured?

I have downloaded client to see if it can be configured but got lost.

Any help welcome.

Thanks

Trigger tooth 37 and trigger angle 48.
You also need to connect the Fiats camsensor.

after the missing teeth the first tooth is Zero then start counting 1,2,3 etc..... to 37 this is first trigger tooth then after that 48 crankshaft degrees (trigger angle) is TDC

So 37 teeth will be 222degrees + 48 that will addup to 270 deg. Thats ok then , but why is this setup needed ? Is it to synch to cam sensor ?

Just done some research, it looks like
crank trigger is is 270deg BTDC
Cam Trigger is 78deg BTDC
so in theory
triger tooth 32 @ 192deg
trigger angle 78 deg
should work ? or im doing something wrong?
will test tomorrow this configuration

right, so crank sensor (VR Rising Edge) is sitting at 90deg BTDC ,
by the manual Cam Sensor(hall) is 78deg btdc, on scope it sort of sits at tooth 58 of crank (missing tooth) unsing falling edge. so
so that does not add up as the cam point is trigger tooth 0 and 66deg on crank wheel and TDC of cylinder 3 just happens to be tooth 59 (missing tooth)

Your scope looks correct.

Try this settings and check the spark on 1st cylinder with your timing light.
