Dear All,
We continue our project on 2JZGTE VVTi (1 year behind due no experience with the brand).
Now we can run engine.
There is some problems I would like to ask.
- Fuel pump only work if connected directly to battery (no ECU connection)
- CLT not working (try all sensor option)
- Idle struggling (unable to rev engine, using aftermarket throttle)
- AFR gauge not working (using Bosch LSU 4.2)
Hopefully somebody is willing to assist us since tuner has no experience with ECUMASTER.
I enclose EMU file for reference.
Thanks

Re: Need Help
Take a look at Outputs !!! There is no activate for Main Relay !!! .
Our Wideband / FuelPump Relay ..... all this getting no Power if the Main Relay is Offline

What should we do?
All wiring is done according to manual.

Re: Need Help
Wiring may be, but your emu setup is not coresponding to it. You should set what output to use for pump, main relay etc.....

Re: Need Help
We solved fuel pump wiring (finally after 1 year).
We use 2 negative wires for fuel pump, one connected to negative battery, while another one connected to chassis.
It seems weird but it works.
Now we are having problem with CLT, WBO and tachometer.
CLT and WBO are wired according to manual.
We cant find the problem why they dont work.
As for tachometer, need your advise how to make it works.

Re: Need Help
I really dont understand. Why are people doing something what they dont understand?
Why do you think, that maker of ECU should teach you everything arround....... everybody from Automotive must hard pay for every knowledge step.
Please, let someone do it for you, someone who understands what to do, or take place in some "seminar" or class, and pay for learning it.
What does it mean it does not work ? It shows wrong numbers or gives you some error message ?
CLT is wirend on one side to pin called "Sensor ground" and the other end to "CLT" input....... after that you should select the correct calibration and it should somehow read your temperature. Some "finetuning" may be requered .... not every time.
WBO works like in the manual, nothing to say more about it. Connect it, meassure the Rcal, put it into the calibration , select you have WBO (not narrow band) and thats it.

Re: Need Help
Before I bought ECUMASTER, I asked if I could get help from ECUMASTER.
My tuners reminded me to stay away because they know nothing about ECUMASTER.
They only know Greddy, HKS, Haltec and Link.
Gregor Pekala from ecumaster.co.uk said it was no problem.
They could help us.
Later we didnt get help from them.
I asked Artur Kisielewski for help.
After many try, my tuners (2 different tuners) gave up.
They recommended to sell the ECU.
I tried to sell for 6 months but nobody interested (no need to pay if not working).
Then I continue this project with new tuner in hope I can make it wok.
Anyway I thank you for your assistance.
I think It was my mistake to buy product which is not familiar to tuners.

Re: Need Help
no offense but im a lorry driver and i wired my own up no problem , its not that hard , ok i fried one ecu but that was because i cant see shit without my glasses on lol
each section has a help which should tell you how to wire it .
you still have to configure the input and outputs in the ecu software .
you need to know what wire does what on the stock loom if you are using it , the fact that you used two earths for something to work tells me you dont .
if you have a specfic problem , you should say exactly how you wired it . which pin in the plug and wire in loom etc

Re: Need Help
Thanks to Welshman.
If you see manual, it is straight forward.
Tuner (and 2 former tuners) knows exactly what to do.
In fact sensors dont work.
It is the reason why I ask to get help from this forum.
Just like fuel pump.
We tried all available AUX 1-6 with different setting.
None working.
When you start engine...... engine cut off after several seconds (last year problem).
Finally we solved the problem even it isnt logic.
FYI, we needed 4 different laptops just to connect ECUMASTER to computer.
It took more than one week to make connection (assisted via online by Artur Kisielewski).
Believe or not......
I post this problem last year in this forum.
Our problems look simple but we dont know how to overcome.
Just looking at manual, wiring check and re-check...... nothing happen.

Re: Need Help
are you sure you are using the right pins in the plugs ? when i 1st got mine i saw nunbers on the plug but these are actually not to be used

Re: Need Help
Tuner said he confirms all wires are correct.
Let say CLT sensor is broken.
It works properly if using stock ECU and Greddy EMU piggyback.
I bought brand new LSU4.2 Lambda sensor with connector kit from UK ECUMASTER.
I dont think sensor broken or wire problem.
I enclose pictures.
I am not mechanic or tuner but to see how it is wired I am sure "the right pins in the plugs".
Each wire is labeled for easy checking.

Re: Need Help
You may have other problem besides the ecu wiring, the grounds you discribe for the fuel pump are very weird.
If that is the only way the pump works could describe a chassis or engine ground problem.
I also did other ecus before like MS, Motec or omex and i assure you EMU are far better and easier.
But most of my installs i always do a complete and independent wiring from engine to the ecu, less messy and trouble free.
You could always email ecumaster to have the ecu tested and rule out any ecu fault.

Re: Need Help
Hi roquete.
It is weird.
Even tuner doesnt have word how to explain.
Main reason tuners gave up about 1 year ago, they couldnt make fuel pump working.
It is like stock ECU cutting off engine for safety reason.
ECUMASTER (dont have to say name) told me to remove stock ECU to solve problem.
At first they said to use stock ECU for ABS, 4 wheel steering and other features.
I prefer not to use ECUMASTER if ABS, 4WS not working.
It is messy when it was being wired.
Now it is quite clean engine bay.
ECUMASTER installed inside dashboard.
I enclose picture with ECUMASTER installed (no messy wires).
"i assure you EMU are far better and easier"
I bought it for much better price comparing to HKS and LINK installed in my other cars.

Re: Need Help
The question again : How do you know that the CLT sensor does not work ?
You can measure the resistence on sensor and than on the end EMU wiring. Its easy to control, and i am doing "sound" (beep) check on every single wire before plugin in the EMU.
On 20Y old cars i dont use stock wiring because it ist very prone to crack.....

OK, maybe your EMU can be faulty, maybe not.Deni Dermawan wrote:Thanks to Welshman.

I bet you and your "Tuners" are something missing.
For example Motec can switch output to High or Low end. It means than you can put out +12V or GND when switched. EMU does only Low end switching. So for example to switch Relay over AUX, you need to get +12V on one side of the coil and the second wire goes into the EMU AUX.
The biggest problem comes when you are not using the MAIN relay, and the current goes back form AUX or Stepper motor back to EMU .... this makes horrible things and can easly destroy your EMU. Selecting wrong coils (smart/dumb) also very fast end of the game. The same if you are upgrading firmware, you must disconnect Injectors and coils............ etc....
This is why i dont recommend EMU instalation for someone who does not know what to do.

"How do you know that the CLT sensor does not work"
CLT doesnt work on ECUMASTER gauge (software).
On dashboard, engine temperature doesnt work.
Tachometer (engine RPM) doesnt work either.
CLT works if using stock ECU and greedy EMU.
FYI, my car uses Greddy EMU as piggyback.
I do want to have simple wires like you.
But it is impossible, just to name ABS and 4WS.
I asked everything before I bought ECUMASTER because I know it is not easy job.
UK ECUMASTER confirmed everything would have worked.
In fact everything is confusing.
Just to connect to computer taking more than 1 week and different kinda laptops.

Re: Need Help
lets start with the WB problem, put these settings on you file, for Rcal use the value measured with ohmmeter on your sensor.
As for the CLT problem, did you wire the sensor directly to emu or is it shared with oem ecu?

You are right.
I took gambling when buying this ECU.
Now I am paying the price.

Directly to EMU and according to manual.
Sensor wires are cut then connected to EMU.
No CLT wires connected to OEM ECU.
I will take picture tomorrow to show you.
Now it is 8.51 PM here.

I use software version 1.138 Exp.1.
I guess "Exp." is hort of experiment, not release/final version.
Is there bug with this software?
