i need help with my speedo wiring/setup i have a r154 with a 3 wire type hall sensor and my car speedo is a RX7 with a 2 wire VR type sensor. the RX7 diagram shows both wires going from the speedo/cluster to the sensor im guessing 5V setup. the 2jz hall sensor is a 12v setup. how would i go about setting it up correcty? i was thinking of just wiring the output aux6 signal wire to the speedo cluster and enable the bullpup resister to make it 5v signal?, but this would not work because the ECU 5v and speedo 5V are different signals. am i correct??
Re: speedo setup
You are making this overly confusing.
Just take any of your analogs, or steppers that are free, and hook it up to your speedometer.
Regardless of how the sensor reads, in the end it OUTPUTS a SQUARE wave. Fortunately enough the EMU *SHOULD* read the HALL sensor, and OUTPUT a square wave, that your RX7 cluster should read just fine.
Now, as far as wiring it goes, without the diagram, it's hard to guess, but since it's a VR sensor, my assumption is the other would actually go to sensor ground (B18).
So from the gauge cluster side, one pin to B18, and the other to whatever analog/stepper you chose.
On the sensor side
B23 (12V)
B14 (VSS Out)
B18 (GND)
Make sure you configure the software on the VSS side correctly. When this is all done, you should have some kind of reading on the speedometer. Then you still have to calculate the Speedo output MULTIPLIER.
Good luck!

How the speedo output multiplier works?

Re: speedo setup
haven't been able to try it out. i cant seem to get any of my gauges to work correctly i think i might have a bad ground some where. ill have to fix first.
