What vacuum hose diameter to use?

What inner diameter hose should I use to connect up to the built-in MAP sensor for the ECUMaster EMU?

Also, beyond the inner diameter, what type of hose should I use? Does it matter? Should I worry about the outer diameter as well as the type of material?

Mine is fuel/oil resistant nitrile rubber hose with approx ~4mm inner diameter. Works like a treat. Not your avarage garden rubber hose, but cost wise it was about 10€ for about 2 meter lenght.
