when conecting egt to the ecu do you have to use the proper plugs ( yellow ) or can you use others or wire direct to ecu loom ?
many thanks

You need to connect thermocouples with the orginal wires up to EMU connector. If your EGT probe cables are to short you can expand them only with the special compensation cables. You cannot use stadard wires.

thanks
egt probs come with no conectors just bare wire ends so do i
1. join to ecu with loom wires
2 add plugs to both egt and ecu
as ecu is just wires for egt i wasnt to sure
thank you

Just crimp it with the terminals. If you want to have connectors you need to buy thermocopule compensation connectors

why do i need then if i wanted them on plugs ??? sorry if i sound thick but whats the difference if i crimp them or use "proper " plugs
this is what i wanted to do
all 4 runners have egt sensors in ( probe with 1meter cable ) as it stands we can only use 2 egts on the ecu so i was going to use 2 at a time and swap to check other ports when on the dyno as well check other things
but whats the difference im me crimping them to ecu loom ( using pink and white from loom kit ) or useing say amp seal plugs instead of the proper plugs
thanks

The thermocouple measures difference of temperature between thermocouple tip and therocouple end. So it is important to measure temeperature of thermocouples end wire (the temp. sensor is located in EMU connecor). So to get proper readings the thermocouple wires need to be connected as near of the connector as possible.

think i got it now
so im going to have to change me egt probs for longer lead versions and conect them to the ecu direct or better still wait for the can version to come out and use that
these are the type im useing

just switch polarity and see what happens

Here is a table for standard colors of thermocouples. EGT probes for EMU must be K Type one.

thanks in advance
