Hi,

It should work fine, I have started BMW e46 using EMU + DBW Module + CAN BUS Module, its very easy just connected the 2 CAN BUS wires from module to the cluster with the right resistor and worked fine :)

Hi,

I am new in this forum, just made my account. I am now searching different ECU options to my BMW E46 -99 328i Coupe (3.0i turbo swap). I have question according to the CAN-bus and stock E46 instrument cluster.

Which instrument cluster meters and warning lights can be controlled via the CAN bus?
I may have to use the M3 instrument cluster, because it has 0-9000rpm range in tacho and 0-300kph in speedo. Can the Ecumaster control different types E46 clusters? Original 0-7000rpm and M3 0-9000rpm? How about the M3 tacho LEDs?
Can the Ecumaster use the original speed signal from the ABS/ASC box and then control the instrument cluster speedo via CAN-bus?
What other CAN functions Ecumaster has already with the E46 CAN-bus?
Are you planning to develop more CAN-bus functions/integration/features to BMW E46?

Hi!

For E46 cluster the following gauges are supported:
RPM, CLT, check engine light, Drive by wire error, overheat light, oil temperature, alternator light

For E46 M Power:
RPM, CLT, check engine light, Drive by wire error, overheat light, shift light (limit must be set in Shift Light EMU options), oil Temperature, alternator light

The speed is provided by square wave directly to cluster (not via CAN).

Actually EMU doesn't read the speed from ABS (it seems that is on different CAN line).

Does the EMU have any extra functions via CAN? It would be very nice if you can control the EMU via e46 steering wheel buttons. E.g.activating launch control/rolling launch, adjusting target boost, activating cooling fan etc.
