36-1 Crank trigger wheel setup

I am using a 36-1 crank trigger wheel setup on the crank with a hall sensor, a single rare earth magnet machined into my cam gear, and a hall sensor for my cam pickup.
This is on an inline 6 7mgte engine. I have been reading around trying to figure out where I am needing to phase my trigger wheel to my sensor at TDC for the EMU to pick it up correctly.
Currently for my cam pickup I have my hall sensor and cam pickup magnet making contact at TDC, and I believe this is supposed to be correct phasing for the cam pickup.
For the crank I have been told to phase the sensor at the missing tooth at TDC, but have also read around and saw other inline 6 platforms are phasing their wheels 6 teeth ahead of the sensor. I have also heard on some systems, as long as the crank isn't on the missing tooth and cam is at the magnet at the same time you can phase the 36-1 wheel in any position(which is how i have been told to set it up).
I understand every platform is different, I am just trying to get all of the correct information before putting the car back together with this setup, as the trigger wheel is going to be fuse welded on and itll be a bit of a mess to get back to to change it if it doesn't work the first time.
I do understand there are easier ways to do this on the car, but I want to use a crank and cam pickup for sequential ignition/fuel, and also want to eventually clean up the engine bay a lot, and this will help by eliminating some extra clutter and relocating it to where it is less visible.
