Hi,
im have upgraded my (r6 e30 m20 engine) single coil ignition to wasted spark.

But engine has no cam sensor... so the injection can't be adjusted to the right engine cycle because emu doesn't know if it is on intake orr exhaust cycle.

Would it be sensfull to add cam sensor to solve this problem?

Can someone tell me the position (angle) of the sensor which is needed, related to cam?

Thx

It is up to you, when you want to Drive sequenziell than of course you need a cam sesnor. If not them run with the old configuration.

Cam angle and all that stuff is everything in the manual and depense on what kind of prime trigger you use.

Engine runs smoother? little bit more performance?

Smoother a little bit, depends on the size of the injectors but not more Performance.

If it is easy to fit cam sensor you can do it, if no I would leave it as it is now.
You will gain no additional HP

Hi, I retrofitted a camsensor on my M30....the difference is not much, a little smoother and you can run a little leaner during partial load conditions. I made a super easy and cheap solution, all you need is one of the M20/M30 VR crank sensors and a few pieces of thicker aluminium sheet metal! If you'd like to know more, feel free to shoot me a pm. Btw, is it possible, that we already have talked about this stuff in the e30-talk forum :) ?
