Boost Config
Post
by pepifebles » Sun May 31, 2015 4:27 pm
Hi,
Its correct this boost setting. Blow only reaches 0,7bar (wastegaste pressure). What function its "disable output under". Should I set a low value or high value ?. My boost target is 200 kPa.

Hi
you need to set up the boost control DC ref table for the ecu to have a valve target based on throttle position and rpm, once that is correct you need to set up the DC correction table.

DC Table its ok and no have boost. I'll set dc correction.
Thanks

What does it mean you have no boost ?
Can you send here the log file in emulog format ? (just press save log icon and save the file. All channels will be saved)

My boost target is 200kpa and only have 175 (wastegaste pressure). If check open close and tune dc table runs ok but close loop dont get run. How Should config pid parameters?
Later upload my log.

Basics first
I assume you are using a MAC type valve, what type of wastegate actuator do you have ? internal or external and how is this piped up ?
wiring. if you toggle the invert output box you should hear a click from the valve.
Dont worry about closed loop at the moment as you need to get the valve responding correctly to the DC table in open loop mode once this is correct you can switch to closed loop.

I attached log file. I check inverted output and uncheck, its the same results. My boost target its 200kpa and only reached 170/180. If I set open loop, boost increase up to 190kpa but there is corrections between 175/190 (increase, decrease)

Use oem wastegaste. See picture, I connect this "T" to oem vsv

1) turn off closed loop for the beginning
2) turn off selected output for boost solenoid
3) open output -> PWM #1 table and assign solenoid output
4) In PWM #1 Table set 50%.
Solenoid should be heard if not thats mean that there is mistake in wiring (no power supply or no signal from EMU)
If Solenoid is working that mean problem is in vacuum lines connections

I can heard solenoid. Then vacuum problem? Actually my turbo is connected directly to solenoid. I will check all vacuum lines.
Thanks

Here is a diagram how to connect correctly boost control solenoid:

Its very rare. I think that problem is my electronic boost controller (blitz sbc I+D III). I back to connect hoses between turbo/blitz, and runs correctly, 1 bar, 1,2, 1,3. When turn off Blitz EBC and connect hoses between turbo/oem solenoid, I havent boost pressure.
I 'm sure some nonsense I missing. Do you advise me buy external boost solenoid and forget oem solenoid?

Hi
if the valve for the blitz controller has 3 ports you can use that valve with EMU, i use MAC valve with very good results. most controllers use a rebadged version of this valve.

I am using Pierburg solenoids (VW uses them for OEM)
But does not matter.
Everything what counts :
Correct hose routing
Correct electrical wirring
Correct SW setup
I saw many mistakes.... for example many are using air from intake manifold, but thats wrong........... etc. (if you are smart you will know why)

No more headaches. I've bought a new solenoid to Ecumaster.
Can I use AUX 5 G12? this output its connected but not assigned. In my wiring is available only the AUX3 G5.

Hi
Any of the AUX outputs should be fine ( i use AUX 3) but you already have Aux 6 assigned for boost control ?

Yes, its stock solenoid but dont want disable to work with this in the future.

Today I have rechecked all vacuum lines and there isnt problem. All seems well. Solenoid wiring and hoses ok, map hose ok. Really should be something working bad, but cant find what its. Mapping, solenoid, vacuum.... Waiting for arrive my new solenoid and try have best luck.
