Hi
I have a donut knock sensor from RR performance to fit to a 3SGTE. How do I connect to the ECU? Some donut sensors use the engine block as ground and join the two wires, I think subaru do. Obviously one goes to the ECU. Do I connect both wires together, use 5v reference on one wire and second wire to ECU and use the block as a ground? Or, just one to the ECU, one to chassis or battery ground?
Much appreciated

Re: Knock sensor
The way I did it, I connected it to the ECU and ground it to my intake manifold. Works just fine. Maybe someone else can chime in

Re: Knock sensor
On the 3sgte I was connecting to KNK#1 and B18 (sensor ground) as per instructions, but I have also tried just grounding to intake manifold where ECU grounds (not the same as sensor ground) with good results. I suspect connecting to sensor ground will eliminate some noise, compared to grounding to the intake manifold, but have not tested back to back. Can anyone chime in on whether grounding to intake manifold is a bad idea VS the way ECUMaster recommends?
If you click the ? button on the knock parameters window you will find the recommended wiring diagram.

Re: Knock sensor
Have any log with and without Knock?
What do you use Knocktool for deteckting a Knock?

Re: Knock sensor
I've only just had my first test drive today
I use AEM water/meth kit at 50/50 and only run 1 bar of boost so im not anticipating to much of an issue
I've set the knock sensor up as per the manual, and in a few days I will start to test to see where the threshold of engine noise is.
I also have 2 knock sensors although only one is running at the moment
