hi
i present my self, because is my first time on this forum, i have tuned some emu and det ecus, but i never have installed any, and now im starting with an EMU ecu on my small racing car, if i post a photo you can call me crazy...
my name is Andre Pires, and i have a small tuing company in portugal, i have a big experience on megasquirts since 2007, i have dyno, afr, knock etc, the essencial, and now i need something more,
im installing an emu on a c20xe engine
original engine, orignal, injectors, original wasted spark ignition coil (bosch 3 wires), throttle etc,
my big questions are about the
- primary trigguer configuration on the software
- injectors configuration / firing order
the engine runs on 1-3-4-2
on the ecu plugs i have
4 injectors wires G-1 G-15 G-23 and G-6
2 ignition drivers G-8 and G-16
primary trigguer on B-7 (+) B-18 (-) and B-24 (shield), i dont use the cam trigguer.
and all other are normal
i know that those engines have a 60-2 crank wheel, and im not really sure, but the crank sensor alligns at theet nº19 when the 1st cylinder is at TDC, i always check this with strobo light.
someone can help me with this???
regards

its not a lot differnt to megasquirt

been useing m/s for 10 years and switched to emu now
i have basic settings some where ill dig them out for you what coil pack are you useing ? gen xe one or later ecotek one ?
10deg before tdc is tooth 9
or
114 deg
injectors will be your fireing order or you can go more forward 1,3,4,2 or 3,4,2,1
coil will be same as megasquirt to fire one bank and then the other
ill dig out my settings one i get home

maybe your crankshaft sensor is broken!
p.s about the pictures what is right configuration for this camshaft sensor ? and why you don`t use camshaft sensor?

with the digital multimeter i only get 1.5 volts / AC
is this a good value???
i dont use the camshaft to simplify the conections, for now...
im trying to set a wasted spark configuration.

ok
after a few days,
i got the engine runing, at the first start, good....
yesterday i have tuned the engine on the dyno, everithing is good till 6500 rpm,
above 6500 rpm the engine revs very bad, it seems that have a spark cut rev limiter, it seems that have spark retard, but i have checked with the strobo light on the dyno and i dont have any ignition timimg movement.
i thing is an ignition components problem, because, first we are using old spark plugs, and the problem appear at 5800 rpm, with new spark plugs the problem rise to 6500 rpm.
i read somewere about the original xe ignition coil problem, is that correct???
you can see the configuration and a log attached.

34° Ignition at WOT will kill this Engine. Have you noticed signs of Detonation?

Hello
Which crank sensor is in use, had the same problem with the Bosch sensor, I replaced it with Hella Sensor, operates at 9000 rpm with no problems

the coil pack new ???
we use the ecotec coil pack and that does the same thing when its getting old and we run 3 bar of boost on one of these coil packs up to 8200
but the sensors are known for it after 6.5k hall sensors are better over vr ones but if its a new sensor and its wired correct then it should be a problem we have had a vr to 9.5k with out problems a few years ago on megasquirt

no im using the alpha-n
on that configuration file, the barometric correction is no "on", for now...

i dont thing this is a vr sensor problem, because i dont lose crank signal, all the rev range.
im thinking to install a 032 905 106B vag coil, i use them on others install with success,
this coil have a built in driver.
do you have a picture of this ecotec coil??? or reference???

Hello
According to log, is looks that the engine goes into the speed limiter(Fuel cut), set you at 7300 rpm, then everything is ok, works as you have set
