TRIGGER SETUP NEEDED FOR BMW 318IS M44

Hi,
I am fitting an EMU to a BMW 318is 1.9L M44 engine.
I have it running on the 60-1 flywheel mounted trigger.
It runs waste spark no cam trigger.
I dont think its 100%.
It trys to kick back occasionally.
My primary settings are:-
VR sensor
NO pull up
Toothed wheel with 2 missing teeth
Falling edge
4 cylinder
60 teeth
first trigger tooth 10
trigger angle 54
Next edge rejection angle 0deg
enable scope.
Also need AC input for idle up, its on analog input 1.
Thanks,
Mark

60-1 ? isn't it a mistake ?
I'm sure there is 60-2 and set up is as easy as taking candy from a baby. You just need a strobe lamp, to determine correct ignition angle. If everything ( first trigger tooth, and ignition angle) is correct, engine shouldn't suffer from kicks back.
Did You check Ignition timing with strobe lamp ?
You can assign any analog In channel for AC idle up. Download last firmware and client from website (
www.ecumaster.com/tv) and in Idle settings -> parameters
Also in idle setting You have analog in correction based on volts.

Hi Mark!
Please send scope file and log file form cranking and idle.

i think Mark got this going with wast spark in the end but I might be doing another one soon and would like to use the cam sync
this is what the trigger looks like
so the signals will be rising every 180 crank degrees so we have to use falling which will occur at 140, 320, 380 & 560 crank degrees, the best ones being 320 or 380 they will fall well between the other falling signals on the opposite cycle of the primary trigger. About 90 degrees before TDC (Cam sensor is located roughly at the bottom of the wheel as its shown)
so how should we set this up, i know the cam#2 input has a primary trigger range setting but can this be done with the secondary trigger??
thanks

I am convinced, that there is 60-2 signal as first trigger and 1 tooth on cam.
This engines runs at full sequentional ignition and bank fire injection in oem

The easiest way to use this cam is to make scope trace for both edges.
Looking fore the pattern you can discover what CAM#1 (secondary trigger) shoudl be used. There are many line N+1, N-1, N+1 60% and so what can be used.
If you publish here scope traces I will explain how to select proper cam decoder.
You can also look at help for secondary triggers cam decoders.

Thanks Jakub
I dont actually have access to the car at all yet and prob wont for a month or two, i was just hoping to try and get a better idea before we start.
From the cam wheel picture and sensor position we can actually draw roughly what the signals would look like on a piece of paper. We need to isolate one of the falling signals that happen about 80 & 140 degrees before TDC
