New feature - starting engine in wasted spark before sync

Hello all!

In software version 1.137 there is a new feature that allows to start the engine faster.
The new software allows to define ignition output sequence that should be used before cam is synced.
That allows wasted spark start, and after CAM sync the engine start to work in full sequential ignition.

This feature is only possible in ignition systems that allows wasted spark (eg. missing tooth, additionl tooth, subaru 36-2-2-2 and so on)
It will not work in multitooth systems!!!

How to setup:

1) Configure your ignition system to run in full sequential ignition (primary trigger, cam sync and ignition outputs table).

For example for 4 cylinder engine and ignition sequence 1-3-4-2 the Ignition setup could look like this:

So if the car starts, we can setup ignition system to start in wasted spark before cam synchronization

Ignition seqence for start up should be defined in Ignition / Ign. out. cranking parameters
You should choose ignition output pairs (eg. 1+4, 3+2 and so on).
In addition in Secondary trigger parameters (cam sync) option enable sync without camsync should be enabled.

Here is sample setup:

IMPORTANT!

If there is no cam synchronisation (eg. disconnected CAM sensor) the engine will work using ign. out cranking table!

this is a great feature for real OEM style starting!

is there a cut-off rpm or will it just convert to sequential as soon as a sync is found??

Nice feature!!!
And what about the injectors? will it switch to batch mode, or something?

By the way, what does the option "disable cam sync above rpm" actually do above the set rpm?
does it switch to wasted spark, batch injection or what?

ECU "remember" sequence and running full sequential .

LOL that is impressive features like that always give advantage above other manufacturers :) great job.

I suggest to use batch all injector during cranking.

When EMU leaves the cranking mode and still cam sync is not found it starts to squirt according ignition outuput assignement, so the injection might not be synchronised correctly.

However it shouldn't happen, and when happen it has minimal impact to engine work.

Is it important to look after the ignition output offset? Or doesn't matter?

It uses the same output offset for wasted spark cranking as for fully sequentional ignition so you can ignore it

I was just setting this up, I have a 1JZ which already has wasted spark. How do i set up the ignition out cranking? 6 cylinder.

cheers

I had to set my 1jz no vvti to batch injector to get it to start. And turned off pulse. I switched to waste spark "double fire 3x 35w" option and is the only way min started.

This new upgrade will switch out of waste spark to sequential then?

I wonder if this will fix my Stalling problem below 800rpm

Normally you would line up the ignition outputs to the cylinder number. For a straight six with ignition order 1-5-3-6-2-4 you would ignite 1-6, 2-5 & 3-4 in wasted spark mode. Currently this is not the case on the engine I am working. I simply had to switch an ignition output because I had to rewire my wiring loom. Would it still work?

i want to ask you, where the problem, because I can't find ign.out.cranking tables in my EMU.Send for you my desktop example
