36-1 Trigguer setup

hi
im not a lucky guy...
when im going to check with the strobo light if the timimg is in place, my strobo light have a big accident... and now i dont have one to check the timimg... until monday.
but, i just need one more confirmation, if my parameters on the software are good.
im using a tradicional trigger wheel 36-1 on the crankshaft, with the sensor alligned with tooth nº9 at TDC
someone can help me to enter the right values of first trigger tooth and trigger angle?
i have tooth 4 and angle 40º

Try tooth 4 and angle 50.

Someone gave to me another strobo light...
I have checked, and the configuration 4 tooth and 40 degres seems good..
But
I see a little problem, when the rpm goes up, i see a little timing retard, at 6000 rpm i have 3 degrees of retard.
I tried some others configurations, like, teeth n 3 and angle 50, and is always the same thing.
Is there any way to prevent this retard???
For exemple on Megasquirt i have the hardware latency value, and it works.

looks like your mag pickup from crank is connected bad way. try to switch pins on the mag sensor

i tested with reverse polarity, and is the same thing, i have a 3 degres retard.
i tested invert wires, faling/rising edge, sensor gap, and is always the same thing.
someone have more ideias??'

Hmmm thats bad. Because this is all what you can do.
If you still have some timing drift, i see only one solution. ....... Put out the mag sensor from crank and install another, at best Hall type sensor....
If you see something like that left on image:
you should use falling edge. The drift will be there if you would use rising edge, because if the signal goes up, it takes longer, and can be recognised later or sooner, but the shape down, is very fast.
Even if my english is not the best, you understand it for sure. If you have some Osciloscope, you can watch your signal trace on it. The build-in scope in EMu will not help, because i cant see the whole signal trace.

i understud.
but the most stupid thing is, i run this car with megasquirt for 2 years, without problems,
now, i installed an Ecumaster ecu, because is a more professional ecu, and the conection bettwen the race logic dash2 and ecumaster is direct, and im having this spark retard.
i didnt tuned the car yet, but i thing that im having problems.

I think not.
If your Timing drift is RPM related..... you will probably have some difference between timing in your map and in real timimng .... but you can still tune it correctly.
Its very common to see it on stock OEM ecus. Something is in your "wish" map and something other will come out of the engine...... but you can still achieve your goal.

yes, i hope...
i have done all the test with fixed angle, in this case to 15º
and another tests with the ignition map all at 15º
lets tune the car.

It most likely you are seeing this from the timing light when it compensates for the 15 degrees, or the light itself is not acting fast enough and this shows up more at high rpm. You can maybe try to lock the timing at 0 and see if the drift still exists, then try both falling edge and rising edge settings etc.
otherwise 3 degrees is not something to be concerned about.

i tested all this situations
0º
5º
10º
15º
on ignition map
on fixed angle
4 diferent strobo light, etc.
but for now, im working on the dyno, i have the map done till 5000 rpm, and everything seems to be good.
