ALS mode turns on but not off, CAM2 input

I have my ALS function working mostly satisfactorily. I have it on the Cam2 input, switched, to ground. I wired it up and turned on the internal pullup on the sub menu within Ignition.
i used the diagram under the User switches menu. i believe i ran the switch ground back to the engine harness ground. I don't know if this is right or if it should go to chassis ground. but i ran it to one of the harness grounds because i thought there might be an issue with a ground loop or difference in ground paths/resistances that might cause an issue.
i can turn on the ALS but reversing my switch does not disable it. i either have to disable the AUX input under the ALS menu or key cycle the car.

I tested can input and als control. In firmware version 1.170 there is no issue at all. Both input option (cam#2 and cam#2 inverted) activates and deactivates ALS with a switch.

Switch connected to the ground, and after switch to the cam #2.
