Just bough my emu, 1.5jz setting up queeries

hi guys!

just bought my emu unit from a Scottish supplier over here in the uk where I'm based

I have a few questions, currently I have a jzz30 non vvti loom/ecu, I've found a pinout diagram for the vvti model jzz30 so I've written it down and swapped the pins over to match the non vvt ecu so I'm clear what to copy

however, I do have the new 2m universal pre terminated loom with my ecu and I will be using that to make a new wiring harness, there are a few things I've noticed that I need to ask though

i'll be using fiat punto turbo coils with 3 wires, the coils have 3 wires, however does the ecu use a gnd/negative pulse to spark the coil? or does it send a 12v live pulse? i'll be removing the igniter pack that the stock 1jz uses now with the new loom

I will be using the sard injectors, the spec : 800cc / High Impendance / 2 Pin / 1.60msec / part no:63814, I presume I can wire one side of these with my own relay/fuse and switch on the dashboard to give them power since the ecu only sends a ground signal ?

also, base map, I have a full map I could in theory copy over from my emanage blue greddy but I know that's not going to happen, what should I do to get it running? the car is a 1.5jz on 550cc injectors, (going up to 800cc sard now for new build)

any help appreciated, i'll be back on here a fair bit over the next month or two during getting the car running, will post all progress and also possibly my wiring diagrams if the admin's let me :)

also the car:

the car I've built:

current 1jz single turbo setup, using emanage blue, 550cc injectors, 3" exhaust, fmic, walbro 440cc, 1.5 bar boost,

ecu with pre terminated loom, oil temp and pressure sensors, air intake temp too

also one more thing, going on the coil packs, I've managed to find a p65 diagram from bosch explaining the pins, from the left, pin 3 says ECU, pin 2 says U BATT, and pin 1 says ENGINE GROUND

so assuming this, I wire each pin 3 to the ecu per cylinder matching the ignition order of cylinders,

pin 2 gets it's own 12v feed with relay and fuse and a switch on the dash to turn the coils on/off

pin 3, they all just get earthed to the body or battery terminal

does that sound right? so would the ecu pulse a ground or live feed to the coils through pin 3?

Yes its correct. You put 12V forever to pin 2 and the EMU will switch the Ground side (PIN3) of the Coil..... you need to select "DUMB" coil , so coil without ignitior. Also dont forget strong grounding of the PIN1 to the engine block

And plaese, Be in contact with your local supplier, he will help you.

Thank you for reply!

Regarding base map, what should I do? Contact my supplier or do you have a downloadable link for using with ecu ?

Manufacturer should make great produtcs (and they do), and dealers should give great support for custommers. (so do i for my customers)

So i would recomend you try to ask for help by your supplier.

Ok thank you! Should the unit power up using just use cable for laptop or will I need 12v ignition live and battery live and grounds? Just curious as I'd like to setup my base tune on the bench before installing in car just now since it's a few weeks ahead

You can make whole configuration on bench, and then just upload to EMU. No need to make it everythink life on EMU.

Yes you can use just power 12V (grey pin18) and ECU ground. (black pin 17)
