I have a customer interested in fitting an EMU to a Viper V10, has anyone done this or heard of this being done? I know very little about this engine are there any problems he might face?? any input appreciated thanks.

Start with firing order

If it has Wastespark.... should be possible with group injection.........

Older enigen are using distributor and newer variable cam timimng so you would be out (EMU ca use only 2 variable cams)

and i fould good site about some tuning software for stock ecu.... you can use this maps as "start" information

I have done Viper v10 with Autronic (4 ign outputs) + M&W multiplexer CDI. Injection can be semi-batched with 5 channels, but most tricky part is odd fire ignition, means event intervals are unequal. You can not just wastespark it with correct firing order.

Ah ok!

So no 2 pistons are at TDC at the same time?? odd sequence up to 5 pairs can be done with IG offsets.

So if it is the early model with distributor does that make it any easier?

Edit: A bit of research tells me they run a 90-54 degree sequence so in that case there would be no 2 cyl at tdc!

But from photos it looks like they actually use duel post coils indicating a wast spark configuration.... can anyone confirm?

That would mean 5 cylinders are running very different timing, unless they are doing something very clever with the position of the wasted spark or something??

Is the engine odd fire the wasted spark is not possible.

For distributor it would be probably possible (different ign. angle could be obtained by proper ignition offset for every ignition event) but requires cam sync...

I dont think many things will run 10cyl fully sequential so sounds like the best solution would be 2 ecu's

then they can control all 4 cams too :)

Tuning will be hard, but it could be solution.
