Hi,
my car is an alfa romeo 75 1,8 t and I recently instaled an emu ecu with a brand new harness.
the trigger is from an 75 1600 ie(60-2, vr sensor mounted down and right) and I'm not really sure about my primary trigger settings, as far as the car tries to start and keeps a very poor idle, (while emu status says cranking- afterstart , not even running) unable to rev.
Any help will be usefull!!!

FIrst of all measure the current spark angle with the timing lamp.. (lock spark angle to 0 deg)

I finally did it today after counting the trigger teeth again and set it up the right way this time.EMU rocks

I'm having a different issue this time and I need some advice about it.I'm using a beru ZSE003 coil(bosch part num: 0986221048) from a golf iv wich is a 4-coil type with built in amplifier.In the log menu/ignition, at executed sparks count it goes from 200+ to 0 at idle and the same thing happens at stable throtle. does this means missfire as I think?
Yesterday I checked the connections of the spark cables and I performed an output test after it, noticing that sparks at the coupled cylinders don't have equal power.Then I replaced the coil with a used one I had in stock and the problem(as far as the''executed sparks- i didn'run another output test),remains.
The engine's revving quite good at steady state, but when i run on boost its like having a rev limiter at 3000-3500 rpm, no matter rich/lean ve, or ignition timing.
The timing is checked with stroboscope, scope its ok for both primary and secondary trigger at any rpm.
My settings are: ign.event 1:1, ign.event 2:2, V 3:1, ign.event 4:2. Injectors phase at sequential 1,4,2,3(the injectors are siemens deca 630cc) and the ecu does not report any trigger errors.
Should I have to do c.o.p. to overcome this problem? I choosed that coil for keeping the budget low and now I'm running of ideas...

Try to make your spark plug gap smaller. If you hit boost your original ignition coil is not strong enough to execute spark over a huge 1mm gap like usually sparkplugs have. So to overcome this problem lover your spark plug gap to 0.3mm it should help.
