Dear All,
Could or is there a feature to "Autotune" the BOOST-PWM value used once the PID regulation of the boost control is active during a steady state point? The reason why I ask this is that I will go to the dyno soon to adjust an engine. Since there is already much to look out for (EGT, KNOCK, ...) it would be nice to just control
- AFR (set AFR so EGT will be limited to a certain maximum value)
- check power output or knock with the ignition map.
Once an operation point has been adjusted correctly in terms of AFR/MAX EGT value and ignition/power output you would be able to just set the VE value and copy/set the PWM of the current used boost value to the MAP.
This way you could just sweep through the engine speed range at certain loads and copy/paste the correct values.
It might look lazy but I think a valuable amount of time can be saved when doing such.
Maybe other members have a different approach, your comments are welcome of course!
Best regards,
Tomba
Autotune for boost control
Re: Autotune for boost control
Leave it in open loop on the dyno. Once you get it dialed on everything else, then go back to open loop.
When using megasquirt (my main ECU that I use), I can do closed loop in about 30 minutes on the street with someone else driving.
