Golf 4 V6 full sequential and vvt

Hi,
I want to run a Golf 4 V6 (engine code: AQP) in full sequential ignition and injection mode.
For now the engine runs in wasted spark and semi injection.
What cam sensor I had to configure to run the engine in full sequential? R32?
Does anyone know, how to configure the VVT option for the Golf4 V6 engine?

Thanks for the answer.
I already tried the r32 4 teeht, but it didn't work, therefore I configured wasted spark.
Is it falling or rising?

try both edges, but Your edge seems to be selected correctly.
Can you make scope with different edge ?

I have tested rising and falling edge and nothing works.
In the attachments are the 2 scope logs with falling and rising edge and the whole config of the emu.
The V6 AQP has just one cam sensor and one variable cam, is this the problem? Because R32 and V6 BDE have two cam sensors and two variable cams.

Try this setting! Maybe the ignition output offset will changed.
Best way to test it, try my setting and look if the Emu will synchronized during starting. When Emu ignition state goes in synchronized then you can test with the ignition test lamp if the cylinder firing order is correct.
What type of VVT is used in the AQP, the impeller adjusted one or the chain tensioner one?

I studied a little bit my VAG documents and the AQP uses the 22° chain tensioner VVT one. And the sensor wheel at the intake cam is the same as the R32 one, so it must work with my settings, the only thing is the ignition output offset is maybe another, but i dont think so.
You can control the VVT valve with an AUX output (PWM) and at a turbo V6 it is not needed to control the vvt variable. It is sufficient when you control the valve only in On/Off mode, 90% DC is enough for on and 0% DC off. And dont forget the flyback diode at the Aux output with that you control the VVT valve.

Use rising edge and N+1 decoder for CAM
Disable output for VVTI#1 cam control
Then read from the log CAM#1 angle (should be negative one) and use this value as VVTI CAM#1 offset
After that the CAM#1 angle should be 0 (if not adjust CAM#1 offset)
You should check steady pos DC with the PWM output function (it is the DC when the cam change direction).
Max DC should be steady POS + 30, Min DC should be steady POS - 30
Solenoid freqency should be about 150Hz
If increasing DC increase CAM angle select for Higher DC option Increase cam angle
For PID set for the begining
kP - 20
kI - 0.5
kD - 0
integral limit - 5

Hi Kuba,
the VVT at this engine is only on/Off 0° or 22° advance the same as the 1,8T engines. Infinitely adjustable is possible but not useful.
And the trigger wheel at the intake cam has the same design like the R32 one, but only one at the intake cam. (now i see N+1 is the same as R32)

When the VVT is just on/off, then what will change in the configuration?
Can I configure it, like Kuba said it?

If you want to run engine in full sequentional mode use secondary trigger and N+1 trigger decoder.
For variable cams use VTEC option or parametric output (and connect solenoid to any AUX output).
In this situation (no PWM) flybac diode is not required.

Yesterday I tested the VVT via parametric output and it worked.
I also tested the Cam sensor with N+1, but unfortunately it didn't work.
I added a log file as attachment.
The crank log goes from 1:37 to 2:36.

Everything looks fin in your log during startup with secondary trigger enabled. Cam angle is there an the emu is directly synchronized.
In my opinion there is something wrong i you firing order or it is not enough fuel, because, when you dont use the option batch all injectors then you need much more cranking fuel in sequential mode.
And also play with the option ignition outputs cranking in this mode the engine starts in wasted spark during startup if the cam is not synchronized jet and after that it goes in full sequential mode. But in your log the emu is directly synchronized with secondary trigger in use. I think it is only a problem of cranking fuel or ignition outputs offset setting.

Ok rising on the secondary is correct
I would set the secondary trigger to "
User Defined" then set
user cam min tooth to about 12 and the
user cam max tooth to about 22
That looks like it should work you might have to play with the ignition output offset or the sequence

Sorry a little bit late, but I have tested the vvt with parametric output and the cam sync.
When I dont activate the vvt, then the turbocharger comes about 1000 rpm later. I think it really helps!
The solution for cam sync was, like jan32 and jadzwin wrote it, to set the secondary trigger to N+1 and the offset to 3! Thank you!
