2JZ-GTE starting issues - general questions

Hey Guys,

I tried already the search but could not find any helpful information.
I just bought the EMU and want to install it in my 94 JDM Supra and have a couple of questions and hope you can help.

1) Wiring the ignition: Do you guys keep the stock ignition module? I read that the stock igniter calculates the dwell time by its own. How does that work with the dwell time setting of the EMU?

2) trigger setting: So far I know that the non VVTI Supra uses a 6 teeth crank and 1 tooth cam trigger wheels, right? I saw on a couple of Supra maps that people entered 12 teeth crank trigger in the settings. Is it because of 2 x 6 teeth for 1 cam signal? Furthermore I would like to understand which cylinder is facing ignition tdc when the cam signal from the middle engine's cam sensor comes. Also, what are the settings for first trigger tooth and trigger angle and why? Just to make sure I enter the right order of ignition events.

3) ignition vs injection event setting: Based on the manual the injection events shall be mirrored from the ignition events, correct? All based on individual firing and injection, no wasted spark or batch injection.

Is there anything else I need to be aware of when installing the EMU in a 2JZGTE non VVTI JDM Supra?

Thanks for your help!

Go to the ecumaster tuning and tips facebook group and download the manual for the 2JZ pnp adapter and a base map, that will sort out most of your questions. And the non-vvti 2JZ has a 12 tooth crank trigger with a single tooth cam sensor.

Thanks, just joined the group
There is some good information around but still I'm looking for answers to my questions just to make sure to understand the basics. Thanks

The stock ignitor does not determine the dwell time so far as I know.

As to injection and ignition events, look at the 2jz base map as an example, further info is in the help menus in the software

With latest firmware You are able to control precisely injection angle in rpm/boost function.
Injection angle is counted from assign ignition event so, best is to combined injector phase with ignition event on the same cylinder and then select option "end of injection". All math connected with ignition advance, and injector opening time will be done by EMU.

What is the difference to the current functions?
Could you please describe it more precisely?

Finally managed to install the EMU and set it up.
Last week it started after some cranking and idle atb 90°C CLT Temp was fine and steady at lambda one.
During the week I modified the start maps and idle maps a bit and now theb car wont start or keep runnng once it started.
I pulled the pugs and saw no excessive f´looding, they wre just black from the soot. I changed back to the original map which made the car run but it wont fire up again...
now the battery is low.
I am running Bosch EV14 injectors 950 cc with 3 bar fuel pressure.
any ideas what to do next?
