hey guys struggling with my lexus LS400 1UZ not sure how to wire in the ignition,
been told the 1uz has a 12 tooth cam wheel that is used for Rpm
and 2 cam sensors that are used to give TDC
both sensors are VR
how would i wire this in to see RPM and also control ignition as i need to retard the ignition due to running boost
any help would be greatly appreciated
1UZ ignition setup HELP! :)
Re: 1UZ ignition setup HELP! :)
Right guys thought i would add an update incase any one else was seaching for info on the 1uz
DET3 cannot control ignition on the 1uz due to how it works out TDC cy1... the det3 needs a crank sensor with a trigger on it (missing tooth)
The 1UZ uses a 12 tooth crank wheel with 0 missing teeth and is only uses as a speed signal for RPM the timing is done of the cam sensors....
i have however now got Fuel control, using NE + i can read rpm
Im going to run water meth injection stock ignition and low boost under 10psi so i should hopfuly be ok for staying away from det :S

Re: 1UZ ignition setup HELP! :)
Have you tried setting it to multitooth 12 teeth pr 720?
Should be able to work

Re: 1UZ ignition setup HELP! :)
It's set to multitooth 24 / 720 and this allows me to read RPM. But there is no trigger so i won't be able to retard ignition.runedk wrote:Have you tried setting it to multitooth 12 teeth pr 720?

Re: 1UZ ignition setup HELP! :)
If you read rpm it is reading the triggerwheel. But if it is a 12 tooth CAM wheel, then you will see 6 teeth pr 360 = 24teeth pr 720.benje1990 wrote:It's set to multitooth 24 / 720 and this allows me to read RPM.
