no crank signal with det3

Hi there. Im having some trouble with my det3. Its wired in correctly but will not pick up on the crank sensor signal. I can unplug the det3 and the car runs fine,if i bridge the required wires in the plug for the det3 the car will run fine on the standard ecu? Anyone had similar issues?

Okay,

I just did the install on my GTST with an RB20, and I have no problems.

First did you install the DET3 correctly?

If you are looking at the DET3, the top RIGHT side should be pin 11

DET3 Function RB25
1 12v 45 (Tap into Wire)
6 Crank Signal 41, 51 (ECU Side)
8,9 Crank Signal+Pullup 41, 51 (Engine Harness Side)
11 Ground 60 (Tap into Wire)
13 MAF 27 (Harness Side)
17 MAF 27 (ECU Side)

Make sure the DET3 powers on (there's a small red LED closer to the connector side).

At that point you'll want to follow Configuration 7

The only difference, if you look at the box on the right hand side of the attached image, you'll see closer to the bottom "Num signals per 720", change that to 6 instead of 4. If all of o this is correct, I don't see why you should have any problems.

Make sure that pins 8 and 9 on the DET3 have good connection there since you're attaching FOUR wires together.

Thanks for that.. Im pretty sure that is how how Ive got it wired up. But i will re-check it all again

hi can u provide the wire diagram for 7mgte I found the diagram on the forum but not sure if that the correct one.i did installed the det3 piggy back to my car and is running but when laptop is connected it only shows 200 rpm signal.any idea also what configuration will work on my car.

im located in san diego ca.i m having issues finding a tuner for this type of piggy back somebody knows u can tuned my car.

You should really look into making your own thread....

Also, on your configuration, have you tried changing it? I know the DET3' default Configuration is set at 4 CYL.

I bought another det3 from ecu master and the car runs fine. Must have been a dodgy unit??
