Hi all, I am running my 1999 audi a4 1.8t in FIT mode and is running fine, I want to increase the rev limit but unsure on what effect this will have on timing as I assume the ECu will not have a timing table past the factory rev limit? just dont want to blow anything up,
Thanks

Re: FIT increasing rev limit
Personally I was reving engines over stock rev limiter several times and there was absolutely no problem with ignition timing. Sometimes 1000 - 1500 over stock fuel cut, there is factory ignition cut rev limiter.
Re: FIT increasing rev limit
Thanks for this and tried it, goes straight to an ignition cut or no timing, not sure which, do you think if I set timing on the det3 it would work? Cheers

you have a very old bosch ecu....
just open up the ecu, desoldern the flash chip, read with eeprom reader and email to a tuner to raise rev limiter.
problem solved. cost of this +- 75-125euro to raise rev limiter.
if you know somebody with eeprom reader should be very easy.
won't work with setting timing on DET 3, because you can only + and - the timing moment. in ecu cuts ignition there is nothing to adjust.
