fuel implant ,setup /base map

i have been recommended to run the det3 fuel implant ,to have full control of the fuel/injectors
how far of will the base map be /ve table ?
now i run the det3/piggyback alter mapsignal and im not that far off ,but i dont like that i alter ignition at the same time when i change mapsignal
anyone have experience of this
