Nissan Primera P10 SR20DE+T + DET3

Greetings from Portugal to everyone!
I am at the middle of a project with a friend on one of his Nissan Primera's, which was originally a normal P10 GT with the SR20DE(no VVT) Engine to which we added a turbo from a Lancia Thema 2.0 Turbo.

As we allready knew the car would be running Lean on boost, and so we got some bigger Injectors from a DET S14 Silvia, and now we ordered and are about to start Tuning it with a DET3 Piggyback (Map sensor) that allready arrived.

I dont have big experience tuning but have decent understanding of what needs to be done, and what i would like to ask here, is if have anyone done this engine if they could provide me with a base map and configs for this engine so i can start from a little better point then zero.

At this moment we dont still have a WBO2 and controller, but will also be ordering somewhere soon, but we would like to get started without it.


i will start a project on project zone as soon as we start tuning it.

Personally i did couple of sr20det from nissan pulsar 200sx. I know .... they are turbocharged etc .... but if I would connected DET3 to sr20de engine i would choose FIT firmware.

SR20 has simple ECU, that don't go in to service mode with disconnected injectors. You have full control over fuel mixture in both vacuum and boost.

thanks for the advise, yes the plan is to run the DET3 in FIT mode.
Do you by any chance still have any of the DET3 project files? or did you use EMU on the SR20DET's you did? would be great to take a look at one allready done, especcially the config settings.

DET3 connected and car is working lots of tuning to be done and waiting for a Wideband to control AFR values.
Here is the connection diagram i made for the install using Fuel Implant Mode.

Do you detect anything wrong or that could be improoved?

Might also help others doing the same engine.

looks ok to me it will work!!!!

connect the det3 pin 2 with the wide band and do the proper sattings to have log into the det3 will help you tune it.

thank you, Wideband to pin 2 and move the Maf to analog #4? cant i use the analog#4 with the wideband and leave MAF on pin2?

Also in Fuel Implant client, i can only see how to set analog #1 parameters, how could i define #4 is a wideband or something else? would i have to manually edit the .INI Files or that stuff has to be done in normal client first? its something i havent understood yet...

and after softening that table i should only tune and adjust based on AFR the VE table and leave Fuel table alone?

Ok... Maf to Map conversion done...
Heres how the Fuel Table Looks now.

and Heres is the VE table how i have it now...
is there a wasy to lower the values? if i would decrease the injectors CC value would i be able to work with lower values on the VE map, or would that mess everything else??? its a little too red ATM...

You have change the numbers on the injectors opening time that shold be some ware at 0.9-1.2 pit it 0.9 this work perfect on my ca18det thats the problem!!!

Fuel table is ok

from what i understood, for the Injectors configuration (Injector Opening time (MS)) it reffers to injector cadency at 13.5V and searching for the injectors i am using 370CC from SR20DET, the cadency for that value was calculated approx. 0.7ms, is it correct to be playing with this value? wont that be delaying or shortening the injection moment?

Another Question, is there a way to see what the Factory ECU is doing with Ignition Timing? the advance angle of stock ECU?
Since this car doesnt have a crank sensor and the trigger is the ignition amplifier itself, i only see the advance or retard angle DET3 gives it self but am unsure of how much the Stock ECU is doing.

if the trigger is beeing read by the ignition amplifier allready whith advance or retard angle from stock ECU isnt it messing with injection timing aswell?
I noticed there is a Camshaft position sensor, shouldnt i be using that as trigger? i followed the connections advised by the ecumaster wiring diagrams.

put 0.9 you will solve you problems with ve table and car will work nice and smooth.
you cant see oem ignition. and in your case you cant advance ignition only retard.
your wiring is fine don't bother.

The Wideband kit finally arrived, but have a doubt...
Have anyone connected a Innovate LC2 wideband controller to the DET3 and the wideband gauge?

LC2 controller Yellow Wire provides the 0-5v signal for AFR, but its the same wire that gives signal to the Gauge, is there a problem using the same wire to feed both DET3 and the AFR gauge?

Wideband kit is now connected and calibrated, and about the previous question i fixed it programming the LC2 controller so both outputs, output the same 0-5v signal at 7.35-22.39 AFR.

So the wideband is now connected to the map switch analog in (Pin2) on the DET3, and selected the available LC1 config wich has the same parameters as LC2, and on DET3 i can now read AFR ok.

Unfortunately i did not take a screenshot at the log, but the problem now is that the AFR signbal in log is very irregular allways jumping up and down varianting like from 13.9AFR to 15.1AFR, althought at the gauge the AFR value shows up very steady at for example 14.5AFR.
Is this a noise issue in wiring, or am i doing anything wrong?

Can someone help on this issue or even share the way you connected your widebands to DET3?
