So i think i fried my DET3...

I recently purchased a det3 and was eager to try it, and wired everything into my Subaru Forester S-Turbo yesterday.
It ran OK, but had a lot of ignition sync errors, watching the log it kept jumping up and down, dropping to zero sporadically.
After at couple of minutes the rpm signal spiked to both ends of the scale and just disappeared.
I've followed the wiring diagram for a Subaru GT, it needed some checking of Subaru diagrams as the Forester is a little different but it seemed fine at first.
After the rpm signal disappeared the check engine light came on and the car ran really rough, and when I stopped it wouldn't start back up. After connecting the crankshaft sensor back as stock, the car ran but still rough, I had to connect the MAF wires back to stock to get rid of the CEL.
Did my det3 break in a spectacular manner? I could see analog #1 input and output voltage, but none of the map changes I did seemed to make any difference.
What have I done wrong, and is my det3 screwed now?
