Hellow to everybody!
I'm want to introduce to you our project for this winter to share and see what we are able to get. When I say “we” I mean the four people who started the project here and the people of the forum that will help me along this proyect. I will need help for sure, this is our first standalone ECU.
Starting point:
Hillclimb racing BMW E46 with S50B30 completely stock engine, stock ECU (remaped) and wiring, that has being racing with standard fuel.
The project:
- Engine will remain stock for this year
- Remove stock wiring and ECU (allready done) and install EMU (is in garage)
- Remove stock airbox and intake pipes
- Keep infinitely variable intake vanos controled by the EMU
- Redesign and adjust fuel system (injectors, fuel pumps..) to use racing fuel.
- Remove MAF
Ending point:
Dynotest and races results will tell... answer in three four month.

Re: Racing BMW E46 with S50B30 Engine
After a lot of work and some problems we got the car ready and racing last week. Still some work to do with the electronic but the car is ready to race. We got a good feeling during the race, first in our category and fourth overall. See classification, the rider Beñat Poblacion: "http://www.fotomotor.es/competicion/1326/clasificacion/" and a video "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Lt2vU8T41U"
I will tell you about the power as soon as we finish with the tuning, but up to the moment we are about 50 hp over.
The project is about to finish and satisfied with the result.

Re: Racing BMW E46 with S50B30 Engine
Are you using the BMW e46 stock radiator FAN (e-FAN). It should be controlled with PWM modulation, if I have understood correctly. Do you know the optimal frequency and max. duty-cycle values? And should it be normal PWM Ground signal for controlling or PWM positive signal?
