Ford sierra Cosworth 2.0l turbo

Hello everybody.
Just bought the ecumaster and waiting to arrive.
I have tuning experience from mapping my old marelli L8 ecu so i have some data.
Got a starting map from ecumaster uk but i send my emu file to ecumaster to check out.
Some points are not clear yet.
Idle valve setup.
Boost valve (amal) set up.
Also the settings for cold start, cranking and ASE are a bit much.Lot of settings.
The rest is quite clear.
Going to drive wasted spark with bosch double fire coil.

These should be settings for the original sensors of the cosworth engine.

Should be toothed wheel with 1 missing tooth and falling edge If its a normal Ford VR sensor.
Thats a Supra 6cyl 2jz vvti setup with a 36-2

Had to change primary also to Hall and enable pull up resistor.
Idle is now running great.
Next thing starting to look foor good acc enrichment.

But you are better of with PNP adaptor from ecumaster uk

Much easier and cheaper.

Sadly configuring ecu is proven very difficult.
Idle is ok but enrichment is problem.
I have to set acc enr to 140% or i can not give throttle.
AFR is not to bad but on the log it's all over the place.
On lower revs the engine is running not to bad but after +- 4000 rpm i get bangs out of the exhaust.
I think maybe injector sequence is not ok.
Will post emu file tommorow.
Here is short log.
You can also see the short pulses on the PW. I did not program the VE like that .

Here is the emu file.
Cold and hot start are fine. Idle is fine.
Ignition table is copy from marelli ecu , so ok for this engine.

Hi!
Bangs into exost might be connected to trigger errors. Can you send a log with "bangs" ?

RPM spike means : something wrong on crank / cam input. I mean noise.

Sorry , but i don't think so in this case.
I took a look at the ecu scope and it was ok.
I can take a look with a real oscilloskope if needed.
It's like a ignition limiter starts to interrupt the engine.It's hard to explain.
As soon as i back a little of the throttle, all is back to ok.
Also "normal" driving is very good.
Apparently the TPS position has something to do with it.
If i give full 100% it seems to be better.
Working further on VE table.

Sorry but i am pretty sure what i am saying. If you see rev spikes, you have rev/sync issue. Your signal reading is "erratic". If EMU would be able to raise noise floor it will be better, but you can also put an resistor fro signal to signal groud, and test what will happen.

Thx Karel.
Resistors ( as advised for ford cosworth/lancia delta use ) are already in place.
I must tell i just don't see the spikes , the engine is doing the spikes also !
I can dicribe it as a kind of bangs / pufs.
Sort of gentle anti LAG at high revs.

Have you put the Rcal in the WBO parameters? Maybe the lambda ist incorrect. And your injector DC Is completely at the end. Can you also test a run without the idle valve.

your Injector DUTY Cycle is going to 100percent !
so this will be the problem

what is your injector size ? are you sure your fuel systém works good ? FPR or pump OK ? Fuel filter replaced ?
What kind of fuel ?

Thx Karel , but you are 100% right.
Fuel system is checked and ok but indeed i reached the max on my injectors. (311cc)
Bigger ones (400cc) are on the way.
Stays strange that with the marelli ecu and same engine set up i didn't had this fenomana. ??
Also found that the tooth count on sec trigger jumps from a steady 8 to 9-10 just at the spikes.
Is this cause or result ? I will activate spike filter in sec trigger.
Otherwise rewire with screened cable. Sensor is new.
Last thing to sort out now is relation ign event / injector phase.
This is original timing.
But on the ecu you can not tim the injection phase.
So the best time to start injection is 180° before TDC and open inlet valve. If i am not wrong.

311ccm will be tooo small for turbo aplication. I was unning on 880ccm on EVO IX using 100RON and now i am using 1700ccm on E85

on JZ engine.
EMU is very good ecu and has no problém with such big injectors, and is still able to work with very acuratly AFR.
If i know , there is injector offset in Fueling-Injector phase table now in EMU, and you can change the injection angle changing the injection order.
My simply calculation about injectors :
on 6 cilinder engine using gasoline works pretty easy ...... ccm = estimate HP
so your 311ccm are good for 311/6*4 = 207HP (on 85% DUTY)
and your 400ccm will be good for 400/6*4 = 267HP
i know there will be also limitation in the biggest torque etc.... but my calculation is just a rough guess
you can also turn fuel pressure higher, but if you change it from 3 to 4BAR , you will probably gain less then 10% flow of the injectors.
Wiring ?
I always recommend all new wiring. If i made new wiring, never had issues. Good flexible shielded cable for critical sensors, like MAG sensors on crank, and enough diameter for high current devices like coils, and you will be happy.
