Injector phase with distributor trigger?

Hi,

I'm about to set up my first ECUmaster.. Can someone give me comments on how should I assign the "Injector phase" on an V8 engine using only distributor internal VR sensor for triggering. I dont have any secondary trigger so in my understanding now the ECU cannot have any information on which ignition event belongs to which cylinder. It only knows that there are eight of them during full 720 cycle. How I see it is that there is no correct correct "ignition event" for "injector event 1" and no correct "ignition event" for "injector event 2" and so on because the engine doesn't know which cylinder fires at which ignition event... Should I set them to always squirt four injectors at a time? Like "ignition event 1" for injectors 1,3,5,7 and "ignition event 5" for injectors 2,4,6,8 ?? Any comments and examples appreciated.

You can use BMW phase sensor that is clamped on HT lead of 1st cylinder. In your situation it allows to work in full seuentional mode.

Otherwise connect injectors in pairs and enable option squirt twice per cycle.

I have selected to wire individually to each injector to allow fully sequential maybe later on.

Just to make sure I got it right: So like in the picture it would be OK? I have selected to "pair" injectors(/cylinders) with same TDC (firing order is 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2) I don't know does this make any sense or not or does it even matter which injectors you pair as with distributor you don't know which cylinder fires anyway...

With "squirt twice per cycle" Wouldn't this be physically exactly the same :

The injectors opens in 720 deg cycle (once per 720 degree).
When you select squirt twice, each injector will be fired twice during 720 degree cycle (eg. at ign event 1 and second time at ignition event 5)
