Supra jza80 Fuel level gauge/sender question

Hi,
to make a long story short, after upgrade Fuel pump and going EMU Black at the same time fuel gauge don't work and remain always empty, make all the test in TSRM manual and fuel gauge works and go up, fuel level sensor seems to work also, near 1/2 fuel tank measured around 50-52ohm, remounted stock ecu without starting the car only ign ON and fuel gauge works and read fuel level sender correctly.

Question is, i have to wire and setup the fuel level sender and gauge in the emu black to make it work? In case anyone know how to do it correctly? Is just a case of make a "bridge" between sender and gauge on the PNP harness?

Thanks
Adriano

The EMU Black does nothing to that signal, the signal doesn't even pass through the engine harness. When you upgraded your fuel pump, you either damaged or disconnected the wiring, or the fuel level sensor fell off the fuel hanger when you reinstalled it (easy mistake to make with the JZA80). Your fuel level issue has zero to do with the ECU and everything to do with something you did when you installed a new fuel pump.

i was pretty sure about what you say, however today after checking that fuel gauge is working (test light of 3,4watt between terminals 2 and 3, ign on, and the guage start to go up to full), and measured the level sender ohm, i reattached the stock ecu and it seems to remain stable at 1/2 tank, maybe i didn't wait the time needed for the fuel gauge to go down again.......tomorrow i'll check again, thank you ! ;-)

Post a reply just for the record, sender show correct ohm readings but it hasn't good ground, i've to add a ground wire from pump hanger body (aftermarket one ) to chassis ground to make it work.
Low fuel warning tested as per Toyota manual and it didn't work, probably broken during removal and installation, not a big problem, i can check fuel level gauge and my car would not see below 1/4 fuel tank often.
